Remarks
In the beginning i was not felling good because this was my first time away from home but as the time passes i got fends some of them were great some of them were very much talkative some with their antics make us laugh.because of these wonderful friends many of us in the holiday don't go to home. it is because of the college which bring us all together.therefore i want to say it was one of the great ride of my life which i has taken till this day.
Entrance Preview
In 2011 i appeared in comedk. In which i got 17000 rank. Around that i got BIET davangere college and in which i opted for mechanical engg as i have heard a lot about it from my brother as he stayed in banglore that this is good college for mechanical branch and its placement is also good.
Course Curriculum Overview
It was hectic as we have 8 to 12:30 college and then 2 to 5.in between there were labs monthly test of 25 marks whose number were added in the finals. there were total 8 semesters in which in every semester there were 6 theory paper and two labs.In the begining it was little hectic but as the time passes we accustomed to it
Internships Opportunities
In our college there were no provision for internship as it is not in our syllabus as what happened in the north campuses.so we didn't get the chance.
Placement Experience
When we are taking the admission in the college we heard a lot about its placement but after one year its placement drop mainly because jindal company which mainly take the mechanical boys were in loss but the placement in computer science was great as always. TCS take a whooping 130 while MIND TREE take 50 after that no big companies came to our college.
College Events
There were many fest celebrated in our college one was DAVANA it is national level competition in which students from many colleges came and participated. then there were ETHNIC DAY in every student must have to come in dress representing there culture and have to show there culture and dance.besides these every department have their own competition in which student can participate and make there confidence level high. then there were robot race completion in which our college has won many prizes.
Fee Structure And Facilities
As we came from different states our fees was very high i.e whooping Rs 137500 that only the college fees for one year whereas in north it is around its Rs 70000.for us we have to take loan from the bank to study there. the students from the Karnataka have to give only Rs 30000 per year.
Fees and Financial Aid
In our college there were scholarship for SC of Karnataka state who were not able to pay the fees. there were no scholarship facility provided for the students who are from different state. and also there was no such provision provided by the college for meritorious students even they score well in exams like other colleges do.
Campus Life
It was very good. we had lot of fun during the course of study. we made lot of best friends. away from home these friend were very supportive in nature.During our friend birthday we woke till 12 o clock in the night to wish him and give him a good bash in his bump. There were T 20 matches competition organised by computer science branch in which we participated and one time won the trophy.coming to this college we came across many friend who are from different state and different ethnicity but they all are good and are supportive in nature.
Hostel Facilities
There were 3 boys hostel and 1 girls hostel. hostel are very big and cleaned every day. there were lots of flowers and a plant surrounding the college making it beautiful. mess was also cleaned. there are two mess one who come from north and one for local resident. Per day cost was in the beginning was Rs 56 and till the 4th year it increases to Rs 96. our mess was vegetarian so to eat non veg we have to go outside in dhabas.
Alumni/Alumna
Time to time alumni came to our college in special drive organised in our college. They tell their experience and how to stand up to this large syllabus. whats to do what not to do. they give us their phone no and Facebook account id and told us to contact when ever they need them.
Exam Structure
In the beginning it was hectic but after some times it become a part of our daily life. Every month there were test then there were labs in which we had lot of fun.some of us do cheating during the exam.so overall it fun
Faculty
Some faculty members were good some did not the abc of there particular subject. Then some were very strict and in some we don't go to attend the classes rather we sit in canteen. Overall i would give B
