Remarks

Gec delhi is a good college where you can have a good time anf meet like minded people. After the construction of najafgarh metro the college would be much more accessible and roads will be less conjested.

Entrance Preview

I gave IPU CET in year 2014 my Rank was 16324. I choose to do B.Tech in environmental engineering. I choose environmental engineering as it was a new field in engineering and the study integrates the discipline of both chemical and civil engineering. And at there time environmental condition is getting worse day by day and this would help me a lot to do my bit towards the environment.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Well the course in first year is just basics from class 11th and 12th. Basic chem, physics, mathematics, computer as one progresses to 2nd year the curriculum becomes more inclined to civil aspects as we have subjects like surveying, fluid mechanics, strength of materials, and numerical analysis. We also have microbiology and chemistry.

Internships Opportunities

As off now i dont have much idea about internship but 4th year student do get internships in companies and are offered stipend which is market competitive.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placment has been a little dim in the last year but it should improve from 2016 onwards as we will have a permanent TPO officer by then.

College Events

3

The college celebrates sports day and takes part in many University cultural events. PROJECTION is the official college annual festival and Footprint is the annual convocation program.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is really the plus point of studying in a government college all we have to pay ?35000 a year of which ?25000 is tuition fee+college infrastructure fee and ?10000 is University fee first year students have to pay ?40000.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are some government scholarship which are given to deserving students and to students who are economically backward. The college also provides book bank facility to all students. Also all students who score above 95% in any subject are given cash prize of ?1000 during the annual day event.

Campus Life

3.5

The gender ratio is not good if you in civil but in environmental and IT one can see a healthy female population. There are some workshops which are carried out in the college hall i.e MP hall. Ragging is a strict no no in the college and seniors are much more chilled out. You could find children from all over the country like kerala , jharkhand, jamma kashmir and locals alike in the college. Also there is no fuss over attendance in college as people who have attendance as low as 20% would get there admit card for externals.

Hostel Facilities

3

The college provides hostel and is situated in dwaraka and is shared with students with ambedkar University students. The hostel facility is provided to students who are from outside delhi. You and find cheap Pg's near the college for 4.5k a month with facilities like breakfast, lunch, dinner and wifi available.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors do help you if you interact with them but there is no alumni network as such. The seniors are much more chilled out and you could speak with them without any hesitations. They could be seen sitting at local sutta shops and canteen discussing new lan games and movies. Most of the students from 3rd year and above come to college only for giving exams because they have joined somr coaching Institute or are busy doing internships.

Exam Structure

The exam structure here is based on credit system. Some subjects are mandatory and have to be passed to get a degree. The internals are of 25 Marks and the external are of 75 marks. The internal practical exams are chilled out in the first year but from second year it becomes more demanding and time consuming. The external exams centre is any of the engineering college which come under the university to which we are affiliated to i.e Guru Going Singh Indraprasth University.

Faculty

3

The faculty is aactually a mix of some very good teachers and some not so good our department head has a Ph.D and is more articulated to do research driven teaching.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
