Nit rkl review

The strict attendance system and very strict marking system should definitely change in order to allow students to explore other dimensions also.

The course curriculum is good but not excellent. As it is a major problem in most of Indian engeering institutes. In my opinion the curriculum is not up to the mark for research purposes. But if you want only a job after college then the college going to help you to get through it. Some of the departments are pretty good in Nit Rourkela like Mechanical, Civil and metallurgy both for placement and research but some are only for placement like circuital streams.

The placement in Nit rkl is pretty good. There is a full fledged placement committee headed by one of the most experienced professor and consisting of experienced professors and students representatives. They are working day and night to drive more and more companies for placements. In my branch some of the top recruiter are Tata Steel, Iocl, Hpcl, Exonn mobil, Bajaj, Maruti Suzuki. More than 90% people get placements. The training and placement committee conducts regular workshops to prepare the students for placements.

Our college conducts various tech. and cultural fests. The technical fest innovision of nit Rourkela is one of the biggest fests in eastern india and students from all over odisha participates in it. The annual cultural fest of nit i.e Nitrutsav is one of the most happening fest in odisha and their is a special celebrity night in it. We also conduct a multi ethnic cosmo fest for showing the diversity of our campus. There are also management fest like nitr moon.

The fees is around 1 lakhs per semester and 2 semesters per year. The college accept both online and offline mode of fees payment. There are provision for low income group students for the waivered fees for that you have to only provide the required documents. Yes the institute provides proper break down of fees.

I am not opted for any scholarship or loan but I can provide you the procedure to apply for it. It's pretty simple and based on your family annual income. If your family income is under 1 Lacs then your are going to get a major waivered in your fees and their are several schemes given by our alumni association to meritorious students.

As it's a government engineering college the gender ratio is not up to the mark. But thanks to the government scheme of girl reservation "acche din" has finally arrived in our college. The club culture is pretty strong in nit and we have around 50 to 60 clubs. It may be from coding to cooking if you have any interest or hobbies to follow then you will definitely going to get the opportunity. The are people from every corners of india and also some of foreign students also.

Nit Rourkela is a fully residential campus. And one has to opt for hostel after admission it is mandatory for local students also. The hostel rooms are quite spacious and clean. Proper care of rooms are taken. And each hostel has its own gym and reading rooms along with mess. No need of pgs as our campus has enough rooms to accommodate all the students taking admission.

Seniors are pretty helpfull here and they will help you out when you are in need. The alumni association is very strong here as most of the people are in good commanding position of their respective fields.

In Nit Rourkela the admission for Btech is through either jossa i.e using score in jee mains exam or through dassa i.e using sat score. I choose Nit Rourkela because it is one of the finest Nit in India and because I was getting Mechanical engineering stream which is my first preferred branch. To get admission in Nit Rourkela or any Nit across india the procedure is pretty simple i.e after getting through your jee mains exam you have to register in jossa website and then choice filling and all related stuffs after that if you get alloted any college then a certain amount is deposited and for further go to the college website.

The attendance system is very rigid in Nit rkl. The lecture may be good or very boring but if the professor is taking attendance the your are bound to attend the classes otherwise you are going to loose your grades. The average no.of lectures in my course are around 15 theory classes each of 1hour and 3 practical classes each of 2-3hours. I might not define the average age of professors but I can assure you that they all are experienced in their respective fields and they all are having PhD. But some professor teaches very well and some are boring too. Some of the lectures are much relevant to industrial perspective.
