Great 4 years

Need to improve of facilities, staff and infrastructure. Things would have improved by then, but should be good to attract talents.

WBJEE, Scope was 190 and I always wanted to get skilled in Comp.Sc as this was the in thing. Also, during the councelling, this was the only good one available to take up. Selecting the college was not a choice as such.

Was well sctructured. Although it was in Comp Sc.subject, we did a good view of the Civil, mechanical, Electronics, electives like English langauage, etc.

It was an internship with BE college professor on the AI, enjoyed it throughtly and leart a lot, was not a paid one however. This person was the head of the Comp Sc. department in BE college Shibpur at that time and hence one of the key persons in that area.

As we were just the second batch out, was not great I would say, but Cognizant came for campass recruitment, was selected for the final round, but didnot qualify for the interview.

We had the college fest each year which was the primary focus for all. We had live music performances from renewned bands from Kolkata, also from college students, dances, etc.

It was standard as from other colleges, but a bit expensive for a middle class family at that time. We had to manage somehow, some students took loan from bank, etc.

local banks were providing student loans like anywhere, Some scholarhip was also in place for really needy students. Only a few were eligible for the same.

Campas life was good, but kind of boring also. There was a ground, but not much playing. Although in the common room in Hostel was TV and also TT and carum boards for entertainment.

Hostel was decent i would say, particularly for the 4h year we had separate rooms individually. Earlier it was shared, was good fun to stay with colleagues and had a good time.

The senior students were mostly helpful and good, but I personally dont have any contact with anyone, never felt like. My batch students, still have few contacts with some of them.

The course was well packed, no time for any leisure as such. As it was a compulsory residential college, mostly attended all of them, was fun.

Was decent I would say, had some great professors, some were pretty much ordinary. Had some great people with good deal of knowledge on the subject. Some were pretty new folks after passing out from college.
