GCELT my college was the best thing that could have happened to me. It is a very reputed institution with a great history. It is governmental and hence fees are very low yet you can get all the facilities. The faculty is good and the placement record is good. Location is excellent.

To make it to this prestigious government institution I had to crack WBJEE and secure a rank of 1811 in the year 2010.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college was under West Bengal University of Technology. The courses were finely divided and as the experience in the curriculum progressed the course became tougher.

Leading IT companies like Wipro,Tech Mahindra,IBM come to offer internship offers. The offers vary with each company. But the fact is the valuable time spent with these leading firms can take you far ahead in your career.
Placement Experience
For placements we are not far behind. Being a reputed governmental organization we have a strict entry policy based on merit. So leading firms like Infosys,Wipro,Tech mahindra,TCS,CTS etc visit our campus from time to time.
College Events
Our college has two main fests. One is for the geeks and the tech-freaks the Engineers which is an annual techno-creative fest. It's a three day affair with events like coding, quizzes,debugging,games etc. The other is the annual cultural fest with all types of concerts plays and lots of fun.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Being a governmental institution fees was never a problem even for the financially challenged. The engineering fees is as low as Rs 6000 for leather technology Rs 12000 for CSE and Rs 24000 for IT.
Fees and Financial Aid
Government understands that money shouldn't be a factor when it comes to education. So scholarships are assured to BPL category students and to minorities.
Campus Life
College was entirely merit based. Campus life was cool and happening. Friendships and rejoicements filled the air. The atmosphere and the location was excellent.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels were excellently located just beside the college in the quiet and pristine locations of salt lake. The rent too is very cheap just about Rs 300 per month.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are helpful and supportive. They will help you in the exam time,before placements for organizing fests in financial times,in times of enjoyment and parties.
Exam Structure
The college is under WBUT university. It follows a semester pattern i.e. two exams in a particular year. The semesters consist of both compulsory and optional papers with lab papers as required.
Faculty
The faculty was very experienced and was one of the best. They were all highly qualified and taught us with elan. They also encouraged and motivated us in our extra curricular activities.
