Remarks
The college is really good and if you focus only on the academics and follow the faculties, then chances are high that you will end up having your dream job or a much needed internship.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college comes under MAKAUT so they follow the curriculum as prescribed by the MAKAUT University. Onna timely basis the respective departments will come up with various programmes to enable the up-skillment of their students. The college provided the much needed mock interviews for every candidate before the placement season had even started in the 4th year that made me land in my first job.
Placement Experience
The place was quite good in the CSE, IT and ECE branches and the other branches like EE, and AIEIE mainly went for higher studies. Most of the students got place in MNCs like ZS Associates,TCS,Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini,LTI etc.
College Events
It has three events- Bihan for Freshers, Techtrix as Techinal Fest and Regalia as Cultural Fest. So if a student is interested to participate they are welcomed irrespective of the year in which they are studying. And a personal advice don't be afraid to attend the Fresher's party, in fact enjoy it.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees is feasible with the fees per semester being ?40000 on an average. However there are various scholarship programme for Students domiciled in West Bengal like West Bengal Freeship Scheme. So that may help in reducing the fees to half the total expenses if your income is less than 2.5lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
If a student is domiciled in West Bengal and his/her income is less than 2.5lpa then they can apply for Half Freeship Scheme under the WB State Government during the start of their first semester just before Durga Puja.
Campus Life
The number of girls and boys were equally balanced. And there was no discrimination abased on the gender. In fact it is one of those few colleges where we hardly see any clashes between students. The system is transparent and so students don't face any kind of ragging or issues from the seniors.
Hostel Facilities
No my own house was 30 minutes from the college. The college doesn't provide any hostel facilities but there are ample amount of PGs and flats available for rent, so usually students do not find any issues with that.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes they come on a timely basis and make a visit to the college. They interact with the 4th year students to tell them how exactly they focus on their placements.
Admission
After my class 12 ISC Exams I appeared for WBJEE in 2015 and secured a rank of 12491 and listed out my all the names of my college I prefer in online portal of WBJEE after which we had 3 rounds of counselling. Based on my rank I got this college with CSE stream.
Faculty
The average age of every faculty is 40+ with few having ages just under 35. There is ample amount of lectures to cover the syllabus. The lectures really help in having a great insight of the current industry standards. Most of the professors are PhD holders or to be PhD holders.
