Course Curriculum Overview
Our college consists of a well qualified and well experienced faculty who have a vast knowledge over thier respective fields and a huge experience on industry specific field too. They support a student and help them groom properly in every path. Our syllabus is industry related only as I'm a mechanical engineering student and our subject is most of workshop based. There are industry visits organised by colleges to enhance the experience and knowledge.And Yes it can be a add on to our cv and help in the campus placement too.
Placement Experience
As I'm a first year student I'm not very much sure about the college placement procedure but a whole many big companies approach our college for placements like tcs, CTS, haldia petrochemical, bridge and roofs etc. The percentage placed vary with different branches and have a good placement scenerio till now rather the graph is going every year.
College Events
The induction program and the freshers for the newcommers where there are activities like singing, dancing, sports etc. The technical fest (SRISTI) is the largest technical fest in north bengal and compromises of a wide number of events like management, technical, robotics,gaming, intellectual etc. The management and cultural fest ( JECLAT) is also the largest fest in north bengal and probably the longest continued fest in whole of India. It continues till 7days and comprises of many events like the rodies, dance, tshirt painting, wall painting, treasure hunt, social night etc. And all students get a chance to participate and enjoy these 7 days to their fullest. The last day i.e the socialnight where celebrity bands and singers are hired for concerts.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees is very feasible for a btech student. As the fees is very minimal ( 37000 for four year btech degree ) which is much less than any other private engineering College. Our college accepts all modes of payment like online,offline, demand draft,upi,fund transfer etc. During the admission process you have to pay only the fees of one year and there is a complete transparency in the fee structure as it's a government ran institution.
Fees and Financial Aid
No scholarship is not provided by the college but it's provided by the alumni association of the college from second year for all branches to 2-4 students according to result and interview.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is 3:1 (male: female) and there is no major or minor political parties that control our student bodies. As our college is a state government college so all the students are from West Bengal domicile only and are from different caste,religion,economical status and culture. There are practical labs and also research labs for all branches also there are 9 individual worshops( machine shop, fitting shop, carpentry, welding shop etc). There is a lot no. Of 19 clubs in the college ( music club, dance club, magazine club, coders club etc)
Hostel Facilities
Hostel are good enough for state government colleges like this. Every year students have seperate hostels also a seperate for girls. Rooms are pretty decent and large enough. The rooms are sharing rooms with a number of 3 students per room. Bed table and wardrobe are provided with individual lan connection with high speed unlimited data. Hostel seats are limited and is allocated on the basis of wbjee rank and distance but you are most likely to get a hostel because the number is equal to the students. The fees of hostel is rs 2000 per month(lunch and dinner included) and during admission hostel fees for 6months is to be paid. You have to get your breakfast and evening snacks on your own by the canteen in the hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
College seniors are helpful in choosing your extra curricular activities by going into various college clubs into action and moreover the alumni association organises many programs workshops exhibition etc for students which help to gain experience and add ons over cv.
Admission
I was an engineering aspirant from class 10 so I gave WBJEE( WEST BENGAL JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION) which is a engineering entrance exam to get admission for a btech degree in the colleges of West Bengal. I gave WBJEE on 26 may 2010 and the results were out by 2 June 2019. After the results were out following were the process Online registration for WBJEE counselling 2019: June 24- June 29, 2019 Online choice filling by candidates: June 24 June 30, 2019 Declaration of round 1 seat allotment: July 3, 2019 Round 1 ( Physical reporting, document verification, initial fee payment etc): July 4, 2019 to July 7, 2019 Declaration of round 2 seat allotment: July 9, 2019 Round 2 (Physical reporting, document verification, initial fee payment etc): July 10, 2019 to July 11, 2019 Declaration of round 3 allotment: July 13, 2019 Round 3 (Physical reporting, document verification, initial fee payment etc): July 15, 2019 to July 17, 2019 Last date for physical reporting and admission at final allotted July 20, 2019 E-Admission procedure closes: July 20, 2019 After college and branch is allocated you have to physically reach the college on their given date for different branches to complete the admission process and fee payment.
Faculty
Basically on an average there is a no. Of 2 periods for every subject everyday (50min one period each) As said earlier it's a state government college so the faculty are well qualified and well experienced and there are teachers from 28-60 year age group. And the Average is about 35 years. All the professors are well qualified most of the all are mtech or PhD holders from renowned IITs, NITs, Jadavpur University etc and have a vast knowledge over their field.
