Remarks

The placement cell could be more active and reach to more companies to increase the placement rate and widen the approach for a single student for more options.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Our college consists of a well qualified and well experienced faculty who have a vast knowledge over thier respective fields and a huge experience on industry specific field too. They support a student and help them groom properly in every path. Our syllabus is industry related only as I'm a mechanical engineering student and our subject is most of workshop based. There are industry visits organised by colleges to enhance the experience and knowledge. And Yes it can be a add on to our cv and help in the campus placement too.

Placement Experience

3.5

As I'm a first year student I'm not very much sure about the college placement procedure but a whole many big companies approach our college for placements like tcs, CTS, haldia petrochemical, bridge and roofs etc. The percentage placed vary with different branches and have a good placement scenerio till now rather the graph is going every year.

College Events

4.5

The induction program and the freshers for the newcommers where there are activities like singing, dancing, sports etc. The technical fest (SRISTI) is the largest technical fest in north bengal and compromises of a wide number of events like management, technical, robotics, gaming, intellectual etc. The management and cultural fest ( JECLAT) is also the largest fest in north bengal and probably the longest continued fest in whole of India. It continues till 7days and comprises of many events like the rodies, dance, tshirt painting, wall painting, treasure hunt, social night etc. And all students get a chance to participate and enjoy these 7 days to their fullest. The last day i.e the socialnight where celebrity bands and singers are hired for concerts.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is very feasible for a btech student. As the fees is very minimal ( 37000 for four year btech degree ) which is much less than any other private engineering College. Our college accepts all modes of payment like online, offline, demand draft, upi, fund transfer etc. During the admission process you have to pay only the fees of one year and there is a complete transparency in the fee structure as it's a government ran institution.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship is not provided by the college but it's provided by the alumni association of the college from second year for all branches to 2-4 students according to result and interview.

Campus Life

4

Gender ratio is 3:1 (male: female) and there is no major or minor political parties that control our student bodies. As our college is a state government college so all the students are from West Bengal domicile only and are from different caste, religion, economical status and culture. There are practical labs and also research labs for all branches also there are 9 individual worshops( machine shop, fitting shop, carpentry, welding shop etc). There is a lot no. Of 19 clubs in the college ( music club, dance club, magazine club, coders club etc)

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel are good enough for state government colleges like this. Every year students have seperate hostels also a seperate for girls. Rooms are pretty decent and large enough. The rooms are sharing rooms with a number of 3 students per room. Bed table and wardrobe are provided with individual lan connection with high speed unlimited data. Hostel seats are limited and is allocated on the basis of wbjee rank and distance but you are most likely to get a hostel because the number is equal to the students. The fees of hostel is rs 2000 per month(lunch and dinner included) and during admission hostel fees for 6months is to be paid. You have to get your breakfast and evening snacks on your own by the canteen in the hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

College seniors are helpful in choosing your extra curricular activities by going into various college clubs into action and moreover the alumni association organises many programs workshops exhibition etc for students which help to gain experience and add ons over cv.

Basically on an average there is a no. Of 2 periods for every subject everyday (50min one period each) As said earlier it's a state government college so the faculty are well qualified and well experienced and there are teachers from 28-60 year age group. And the Average is about 35 years. All the professors are well qualified most of the all are mtech or PhD holders from renowned IITs, NITs, Jadavpur University etc and have a vast knowledge over their field.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
