Entrance Preview
I took the JEE Mains examination in which i scored 123/360. The reason why i chose this college was because it is arguably one of the top engineering college in Mumbai and closest to my residence. It has a mesmerising campus and a team of excellent teachers.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is very industry oriented. for first years the subjects, apart from PCM are Fundamentals of computer programming(basic c lang), Engineering graphics(Auto cadd), Basic electronics, Communication Skills, Engineering mechanics and environmental studies.
Internships Opportunities
The internships taken up by the students are mainly in marketing and web development startups. The college has a council called the Boombox which looks after all the projects and ideas in the field. The stipend varies from none to 15k.
Placement Experience
The placement in KJSCEis fairly decent. The average package is upwards of 3.6L while the highest package going up to 12L. Infosys, Accenture andTCS are the biggest recruiters.
College Events
The college has three main events. The first is Abhiyantriki, the technical fest. The second is the cultural fest called Symphony and the third is the college sports fest, Skream. Apart from these there are a number of days celebrated by the students such as saree/tie day, traditional day etc. There is also an interdepartmental sports competition.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college offers financial aid to the students who cannot afford the fees in the form of tuition fee waiver. this facility can be availed of, by simply producing the parent's annual income statement at the time of admission. Also, there is scholarship called the Tata Crucible Scholarship, an award prize of 1 lakh rupees to the highest scorer of the department.
Alumni/Alumna
My brother is himself an alumni and hence I'd say that the alumni network of the college is very strong. The college has a special alumni council with a total of 25 students who look after the alumni meets, reunions and interactions. The alumni frequently visit the college and provide their ideas and support to the students working on various projects and startups.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is just like MU colleges. There are two mid sems and one end semester exam for the students of all the years.
Faculty
The faculty in the college is excellent. The teachers are very supportive and give special guidance to students who need it. Almost the entire faculty is postgraduate and well qualified from recognised colleges. The medium of instructions is strictly english. The labs and workshop assistants are extremely helpful.
