Course Curriculum Overview
It's fully updated one and linked up with recent upgradations in Industrial technology. Most of the professors in the university are visiting professors that gives us complete professional exposure in class rooms. They will guide us in getting the jobs easily and their contacts are more than enough for us to complete our industrial excursions and internships during our vacations
Placement Experience
Overall in ISM placements are decent i.e. nearly >75% students get placed. When it comes to our department of mining placements are >95%. Number of diversified companies visit our campus every year. Not only placements, internships are also at the same level. There is a career development cell in the college which takes care of students with less skills and making them skillful enough to get placed
College Events
There are many technical fests like concetto, Khanan, vibhav, spectrum, etc. Cultural fests are Srijan and basant and sports fest is parakram. I witnessed participation from many of eastern indian colleges.Budget of the fests Srijan and basant are nearly 1 crore
Fee Structure And Facilities
Everything is transparent in college. For income <1 lakh, fee would be 55k per annum. For income 1 lakh to 5 lakhs, fee would be 1.2 laks per annum For income > 5 lakhs, fee would be 2.55lakhs per annum. There are no additional charges.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are many scholarships available in college to apply, just we need to be eligible to apply those scholarship. There would be two types of eligibility criteria for most of the scholarships 1. GPA 2. Income criteria If we apply scholarships carefully we can easily grab upto 75k from college itself
Campus Life
Campus contains lot of greenary but not a developed area. Gender ratio is 1:8 and students over there are allover from the Indian states and there are some international students too especially from Africa.There are lot of clubs in the college which cover all areas such as technical, communication skills, Debating, cultural etc. There is a student body in the campus which has full powers to interfere in campus administration matters
Hostel Facilities
When it comes to hostel rooms, 2 students per room and accomodation is free of cost.Just we need to pay fees for mess food in hostel. That amount would be covered in total fees what I mentioned above. Rooms are more or less ok ok and it all depends on us and our maintenance of room
Alumni/Alumna
As college itself is one of the oldest college in the country. It has huge alumni network from allover the world. They are helpful in bringing lot of companies for placements to ISM
Admission
Need to qualify JEE Mains to write JEE Advanced. My JEE Advanced rank has made me to get seat here in IIT ISM Dhanbad. Usually admission process takes place on the last week of July. It takes place in Student Activity Centre of IIT ISM Dhanbad.
Faculty
In our department there are nearly 30 professors and 20 lab technicians for 350 students including undergraduates and postgraduates. Many are highly experienced faculty and visiting professors from industries and CIMFR scientists.
