Course Curriculum Overview
Yes there were some industrial visits and are some machines in our college lab itself, it helps to get practical knowledge apart from theory in books. We had internships also in well known companies. These visits, lab machines and internship helped a lot in driving our knowledge.
Placement Experience
Some industries that visited are Reliance Industries, Shree Ram and Shyam, Welspun, Chiripal, Alok, Arvind Mills, etc. First of all we were asked to register in the placement cell of the college with our basic details and score of the semester. Then as per company requirements students were shortlisted and asked to sit for interview. Yes some seminar were organized to prepare us for the placement.
College Events
There were many fests organized. The college fest with technical and non-technical events, university fest with technical and non-technical events are organized. The navratri festival is organized. And as per the season the fests are organized like for Uttrayan kite flying is organized. Many cultural programs where talent hunt of dancers, singers, comedians etc. is organized. People from all over Gujarat participated in all the events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees is nominal as the college is ruined by Gujarat Government. The fees was about INR 2100 for 2 semester. The university charged about INR 750 for each semester as exam fees. The payment was compulsorily to paid online or via online generated bank chalan. No additional fees was to be given for Admission. Only INR 100 was to be paid as application fees. The college provided the fees receipt with complete breakdown.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college had scholarship programs provided by MYSY i. e. by Gujarat Government. This was given to students of social backward class like OBC, SC, ST having moderate to high grades in the past semesters. The girls were asked to pay a lesser about 50% because rest was paid by Gujarat Government.
Campus Life
The Gender ratio varied in all branches of B. E. but usually boys were more as compared to girls. Usually boys:girls ratio of 65:35 was there. There were many debates and seminars were organized based on politics, environmental, gender equality and many other social issues. Workshops for different branches were organized. All workshop, cultural programs were also organized during college and university central festival. Sports days of about month was organized by University and of about a week by college differently.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are helpful and alumni network itself is runned by alumni. They gave sponsorships and helped college financially. Their office is located in the central region of college. They organize the annual Navratri festival event. And also organize the convocation along with college management. The alumni network is vast. Their experience helped in exams, job seeking and helped many gets jobs in their own company, some alumni are faculty in the college.
Admission
My dad owns a textile business so I opted for B. E. in textile Technology. As the L. D. college of Engineering is in my city and is easy to reach via 2- wheeler or a 4- wheeler so I opt for this college. The college is a government college with nominal fees. Steps for admission are 12th board result and JEE Mains result cumulative to form a merit and then choice filling of our stream and the final selection.
Faculty
There were about 6-8 lectures daily, 5 days a week. There are about 10 faculty and 1 Head of the Department and other clerks and helpers. Some faculty are aged and some young with a pretty good knowledge as they have worked in industries for 5-10 years. All faculty were well knowledgeable in their respective subjects.
