Remarks
Well, there's a lot of things the college needs to fix like the quality of washroom in terms of hygiene, quality of foods served in canteen and the quality of education provided, there must be proper discipline in the campus too as well the management must check their email box too. I have sent one complain/suggestion but haven't received any reply from them or action taken by them.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well it's a Government College under University of Calcutta. We don't have any research driven course. But I must say there's no proper discipline in the college like for the teachers as well as for the students. We are not given any such industry specific knowledge we are just required to follow the Syllabus as prescribed by the University of Calcutta which changes after every 5 years.
Placement Experience
Well, I'm in just the second semester and haven't seen any companies visiting the campus. Moreover, nothing is mentioned on the college's website too
College Events
Till now I have seen Freshers and Swarasati and sometimes event of ruling political party. Other than this I haven't seen any major events celebrated in college yet. And I'm in the Commerce department so it's possible that humanities enjoy more cultural events than us.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Well as it's a Government College the fees are too low like 85 a month. But it's collected Semester wise. And while getting admission they charge admission fees and 1st semester fees at once and in my case it was like 5400 and for other courses fees might vary.
Fees and Financial Aid
I haven't opted for any financial program to get admitted in the college but there might be some schemes for Girls and non General cast students
Campus Life
Well, I'm a B.Com Honours student and that too Evening so girls are quite less in this course at this time. But there are many girls in humanities subjects. In my section out of 150 students, there are only 7 to 8 girls. There are students from many religion and caste too and students speaking different languages like Hindi and Bengali as their mother tongue and some students know the English language too because they have studied it in their school. I have seen a few students from the LGBTQ community too. And there are students from poor to rich economic background too.
Alumni/Alumna
Well as there's no discipline in the college students bunk classes and doesn't even come to the college for months. One can find students Smoking in front of the campus and many students join party politics too because of power and whatnot. I don't know alumni of my college but yes seniors are helpful no matter what they do that's what I have found when I interacted with some of them.
Admission
I opted for this course because in school I have learnt commerce and my father too did a degree in commerce. The college is near to my house and it's well known college for Commerce. The procedure of Admission is online and all the relevant information & documents required for Admission is given online too.
Faculty
As I said that there's no discipline so it happens quite often that the college couldn't complete the syllabus and teachers aren't sincere too like in taking class. There are problems in language and sometimes the concept. And by discipline means teacher absents the class quite often and sometimes comes late in the class too.
