Course Curriculum Overview
Yes, it has 8 semesters for engineering and 10 for architecture. I did industrial projects during my college days and my college helped me a lot to get chance to work with industry. I worked on some good lab works so that I could brush up my knowledges of industry.
Placement Experience
The placement is good. More or less all the final year students get job. A lot of people get multiple offers from multiple MNCs. As this is a renowned institute, a lot of major companies come to this institute to offer students their jobs.
College Events
The institute organise REBECA, which is one of the biggest college cultural fest of Eastern India. You can also take part in INSTRUO, which is tech fest of this college. This is also one of the largest tech fests comes after JU and IITKGP of Eastern India.
Fee Structure And Facilities
When I was in college the semester cost was 6400 and hostel fees were extra. I came to know now the semester fees got higher a bit, but still it is feasible. The institute has so many banks inside the campass. People need to deposit the amount into those banks.
Fees and Financial Aid
I didn't opt any scholarship. But yes there are options for scholarship. Even as am alumnus, I take part of one scholarship organised by our hostel Wolfenden Hall.
Campus Life
A well mentained lifestyle. 60-40 is the gender ratio here. No racial discrimination, no sexual discrimination, no ethnicity discrimination, no economic discrimination you will face here. People are very friendly and you will get a chance to work in oldest workshop of the state.
Hostel Facilities
Yes. Hostel rooms are old but still well maintained. You can have a lot of activities in hostels. Every hostel take part of different festivals like sarswati puja, holi etc. Food is better in halls. Even you can have your foods from canteen itself.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes. I am an alumni of the college. I have connection with more than 1000 current and alumni students. We have Nostalgia Team, we have GABESU for alumni connect.
Admission
I appeared in WBJEE and scored a rank, and after counseling, I opted this course. The year of admission for me was 2009. This institute is the oldest engineering institute of west bengal. This institute has a vast history of success. More over you need to opt a good rank in engineering entrance examination, which did.
Faculty
The facilities are so helpful. This institute has a lot of experienced professors. A lot of PhD students are under them. If you want to have proper guidance from the teachers, honestly speaking this is the place for you. Professors are easily approachable. They are very helpfull.
