Remarks

Management is good but sometimes becomes too obsessed with rules, they definitely do their best to improve the image and reputation but easing a bit on rules would be nice.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The Curriculum is CAL based that is balanced between Theoriortical and lab approach. With almost all courses having industrial project to give hands on experience and enhanced learning experience. Regular Industrial visits ensures an insight into the real atmosphere of corporates.

Placement Experience

4.5

VIT has been a limca book record holder for assuring maximum number of job offers in a single day with it's placement drive. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, PWC are the highest payers and highest package was around 49 lpa last year. Also the placement rate is 99 % hence almost all people appearing for placements secure a job.

College Events

2

We have two official fests 1: technovit, which is the technical fest of VIT chennai, loads of career enhancing workshops, technical events and fun games are the key highlights of this fest every department has their own team in this to conduct department related stuff. 2: vibrance is the cultural fest of VIT chennai a 3 day enthralling fest with concerts DJ night and events by cultural clubs of VIT

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a Private college, fees structure Is a little expensive one. There are two groups of fees depending on course namely A and B with annual tution fees for the basic category being 1, 75, 000 and 2, 00, 000 respectively. Then depending on the rank obtained in VITEEE there are categories for fees from category 1 to 5. Category 1 is basic feed then 600000 increase per category. And hostel fees is seperate around 1 to 2 lakh depending on type of preference.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship opportunities are for top 100 rankers who rarely appear for counselling hence factually no scholarship, Indian bank in partnership with VIT provides student loan at 12 percent intrest of amount upto 15 lakhs.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is one thing that VIT lacks in, this rules are more strict than a missionary school with gender discrimination being a problem that should have been addressed long ago. Campus in time is 6:00 pm for both boys and girls and hostel intime is 7:00 pm for girls and 9:00 pm for boys.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel rooms are pretty decent with 2, 3 and 4 bedded rooms, there are adequate hostel rooms for students a newly built hostel block is ready to accommodate 4000 new students. Hostel rules are very strict so a few avail flats on rent in nearby buildings.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is decent and pretty helpful. Seniors here are probably the best you'll find anywhere, not exaggerating just stating a fact. This campus is ragging free in true sense, seniors act as guardian to you guiding you and being with you all through your college life.

Admission

VIT is ranked number 1 private institute by MHRD, the ranking and Placement records of VIT were the key factors in my decision to take admission in the very institute. The admission procedure is described as VITEEE is the entrance exam for VIT university the rank obtained in this exam is the deciding criteria for counselling session which decides the branch and field of study and fees.

Faculty

4

There are approximately 45 hours of classes per semester for a 3 credit course. Faculty is sound with ample teaching experience and most of the faculties have a PHD level degree. There's a level of hierarchy maintained among faculties to maintain a proper and smooth functioning of academic activities

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.

Placement Experience:

1.) Placement begins from the pre-final year and we are allowed to apply for companies from the final year. 2.) Around 70% of the class gets placed in reputed companies with an average CTC of 4-8 LPA. 3.) Along with core biotech companies, many IT companies are also hiring students at a very decent package. 4.) I plan to pursue a master's after this course.
