Remarks

The college timing should be made more consistent. At least a fixed schedule must be set. Especially the duration of lectures, sometimes we have same subject for two consecutive hours which turns out to be too much.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course was divided into 6 semester. The subjects were all related to relevant financial markets. You had to score minimum 24 in external and 16 in internal exams. The externals were more important since even if you scored more in internals and score less than 24 in external then you will need to attempt AATKT. We were not allowed to carry more than 3 ATKTs and cannot fail the same subject 3 times. If either occurs then you won’t be promoted to next semester. Will be able to join back next year once the pending exam is cleared.

Placement Experience

3

The placements were just ok. Most of them were BPOs and few others companies like Godrej were also there. I got selected in one of BPO interviews but had not joined.

College Events

3.5

Cultural events were conducted every year. Model college is really popular for its cycle rally which is covered by media as well. Most of the festivals are also acknowledged and celebrated. There is sports events as well. Both indoors and outdoors. They also send the good players to represent at inter college level. The college has decent amount of other activities not to the point where it affects the education.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is feasible. The fees needed to be paid in instalments. Usually the first term of every year has higher fees and the following term has lesser fees. There is no over charge demanded. We were asked to pay a building fund but then we also had air conditioned class rooms so that was fine. ATKT fees were also fine no additional fees were demanded to provide additional classes for ATKT students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Did not get any of them. Never needed to apply for any or was never aware of any availability. They did have some scholarships for rankers.

Campus Life

3.5

The overall experience was good. They always encouraged practice experiences. Many extracurricular activities were available. Good support was provided by faculties as well. The events were organised properly and never affected the studies. It was a coed so ratio of male and female students was ok.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

No. The college does not have hostel facility. It was a hsc and graduation college. The students had to come by their own commuting means. There is no bus facility, there was never a need for one since KDMT buses run in that route with good frequency. Autos were also available easily.

Alumni/Alumna

Most of our seniors were helpful. Few of them even provided references for work. They were helpful in both projects as well as general doubt clearing.

Admission

I applied for BFS but ended up joining BFM since I missed the cutoff by 0.5 percent. Did not regret the choice. Admission process was simple just filled the admission form and paid the joining fees. College started after the rest of the lists were declared and admissions were completed. The rest of the fees was paid after joining. The fees was divided per semester you have to pay only once you have cleared the current semester and move to next one. The teaching and faculties were ok but most of the professors were visiting ones thus the learning experience was not consistent. The lecture times used to vary largely and within short notice. However it was good thing since we learned to adapt to sudden changes. The overall assignments and projects were reviewed closely and in detail, could not get away with copied or readymade stuff. Completed the course without any break in six continuous semester.

Faculty

3.5

We had multiple subjects. Per semester there were either 6 or 7 subjects. No faculty took more than 2 subjects. The same faculty was assigned only if there is connection between the subjects. There were visiting faculties as well from relevant field who had practical knowledge.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
