Remarks

Low fees, Time for self study, basic amenities, good hostel facility, away from cities, lush green campus, Government College, Merit based admission. The college has hostel facility inside the campus itself and is secure. It has basic amenities inside the campus which spans over 450 acres of lush green land.

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

The course curriculum isn't up to date. The college is in a remote location hence we don't have enough exposure to industries. Some faculties are good and help with all sorts of issues while some faculties don't care at all. Hemant Kumar sir is a great person from the chemical department who is always ready to help. Academics isn't upto the mark and is always self study. Overall most faculty reside in the campus and are ready to help.

Placement Experience

1.5

Infosys and TCS conducted a placement drive. Local companies related to chemical engineering visit the campus. Capgemini is going to visit for Day 1. Placement is not too good because of the remote location of the college. The entrepreneur cell isn't too active. Most companies offer entry level jobs like Systems Engineer (Infosys) and Call center jobs.

College Events

3

Due to the remote location of the college, the participation is less. College doesn't fund the festivals enough. Students try their best to organise activities. Most students neither support nor participate. Two main festivals happen, Madhuram - The cultural festival, techFEST - The technical festival. Festivals like Dusshera and holi are also celebrated but only by students. Independence day and Republic day are obviously celebrated.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college has a tuition fee waiver scheme which is based on merit and household income. It reduces the fee to around 8000 per semester but is given to very few students. A friend availed this scheme.

Campus Life

2.5

Being a Government College, there are good sports facilities. The library is also on par with the average. The hostels are old but good enough to reside. The WiFi network is pretty good but with a limit of 1gb per day. The labs are old school and don't have modern equipment. There is a generic medical clinic which is free for everyone. There are kirana shops, tailor shops, ATMs, stationery shop, fruits and vegetables shop available inside the campus itself. The power backup is good enough with only unusual outages at times.

Hostel Facilities

3

There are no PGs available. The hostels are enough to accommodate admission and charge is covered within the fees. The mess fees is the only one paid separately which is about 2500 per month at max. Hostel is compulsory for students from outstation areas. Three students share a room for the first two years and based upon merit, single separate rooms without sharing are allotted. The hostels are old but are good enough. The mess is separate for each hostel. There are 10 boys hostels and 3 girls hostels. The timing for boys are from 5:30 am to 11 pm while for girls it is from 6:30 am to 7 pm. The girls hostels are inside a compound inside the campus guarded by security where no boys (inclusive of faculty) are allowed without special permissions. The girls need to receive an email from their home before going leaving the hostel for a few days.
