Anonymous's Review On Shaheed Bhagat Singh College - [SBSC], New Delhi

Delhi university is one of the most renowned university in the world. The culture, diversity and the numerous opportunities it provides to a person is what makes it unique. Besides academics you can participate in various extra curricular activities, internships and platform such as management societies Helps in personal and professional growth. Besides this you get to meet people coming from different part of the country. You get to know different culture, different ideas etc. And Delhi University has a great faculty which are extremely knowledgeable and accessible.these were some of the factors this led me to choose Delhi University.

The course syllabus was more of theoritical than practical. It’s little outdated though we were thaught are language, cryptography,C++ etc that can come handy if one wants to pursue career in data science or computer science. Since I was part of my internship cell so I got to know how industries work. The permanent faculty is excellent but Delhi University tends to have more temporary faculty, they are less experienced and that’s make the learning more difficult in class.

The companies that visit our college are mostly for auditing. Big 4 visits our college for mass recruitment. Besides them the companies like tresvista, bain and company etc also visit our college for placements.there are companies that come for hiring students for articleship for Charted accountants and also for for those who are pursuing actuarial science. The placement department is pretty hard working and always produce an excellent result every year. The alumni network is pretty huge and is active in our college. They organise seminars and workshops for students on a regular basis.

I’ve been part of various societies during my college tenure. I’ve been part of quizzing society which almost win 50-60 quizzes per year. I’ve been part of internship cell for 2 years where I’ve held post of treasurer. We have 2 internship fairs which sees a footfall of over 500 students from sbsc and different college. I was also part of Enactus for a short period of time. I’ve got the opportunity to open a sports management society in college. 2019-2020 was it’s inaugural year in which we had 4 days sports fest which saw 1000+ Footfall.

Though Shaheed bhagat singh campus campus is only 5-7 acres but it’s still great. SBSC has an excellent library with rich collection of diversified books. The library is pretty huge. The labs are well equipped with computers and necessory equipments required for the course whether be it bsc maths hons, bcom hons or geography hons. The college is pretty clean but there is a dumping area near it which needs to be looked upon. The sports equipments are available but sometimes the staff people are not approachable. The ground is pretty huge and well maintained
