Remarks

Overall I can give above average mark to Nitte Meenakshi. Campus, Faculty, Infrastructure and Lab facility was good but Placement has to be improved a lot.

Entrance Preview

I have gone through CET Karnataka entrance examination and got 570 CET ranking. I wanted to opt best college for my masters. I would have good top college in bangalore for my ranking but i wanted to be with my friends who scored 670 ranking. So Nitte was the best option i had to select as it was still having lot seats left when i was picking, so that my friend can opt.

Internships Opportunities

College didnt offer for any Intership programme. Very few people got internship through college. Rest others serached outside and got it. Internship max offred during our batch is 15000 per month.

Placement Experience

1.5

It was average. Few companies came for Placements like Dell, Tech Mahendra, TCS and Sourcebits. Placements are magnificent for the CS & IS departments, while Mechanical students are left out due to lack of core companies visiting the campus. Only 10% of the students get placed on campus from the Mechanical department, whereas EEE, CS & IS record above 70% placements. Companies visiting the campus are TCS, Tech Mahindra, Dell, Mahindra Satyam, Coca Cola and a few more. Salaries offered are ranging between Rs. 2.5L per year to 5.5L per year.

College Events

2.5

We use to celebrate College festival named Anadyantha yearly once. It use to be very grand. Boty technical and non technical events use to be held. Anaadyanta is the annual techno-cultural festival of Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bangalore. It is a 3 day extravaganza with 80+ cultural, technical and sports events. Anaadyanta 14 saw participation from over 80 colleges from all over the country.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its very expensive. For karnataka students its atleast okay but for non-karnataka students very expensive. For Karnataka CET students: Rs. 36, 090 per yearFor UGET (COMEDK) students: Rs. 1.25L per year

Fees and Financial Aid

I didnt take neither any scholership or loan. So I wont be the good person to explain this. But loan facility was offerred for other students who studying in the Nitte Meenakshi college.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus was really awesome. It was in extended area so noise pollution. Surrounded with lots of trees. The Nitte Meenakshi campus is vast and exactly as you would expect a college in such far-off region to have. The campus is shared by the Engineering College, the MBA & PGDM departments and the First-Grade College. Academically, the infrastructure is unexceptional and mediocre roomy classrooms, well-ventilated labs and a library which just suffices. Sporting facilities are lacking at present but are expected to be taken care of soon. Number of books in the library is nothing to complain about but the students claim that the books which they actually require are few.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel was quite good. Mess fodd was more of Mangalore food style. The hostel fees, which includes the caution deposit, mess advance and the room rent will be collected at the time of admission. The mess advance is collected at the beginning of each semester while the room rent for each academic year will be collected at the beginning of the year along with the other fees of the college. The hostellers are provided with a cot, cupboard, study table and a chair.

Alumni/Alumna

No ragging in the college. Seniours were good. The Alumni Association was started in the year 2005Support of Alumni For Benefit of Students1. Conduct of Seminars and Talks on Current Industry Relevant Topics- Talk on Opportunities for Engineers in Navy on February 9th 2011 By Mr. Antaryami Alumnus of Mechanical DepartmentSuggestions of Alumni for Improvement of activities of Alumni Association1. Formation of NMIT Alumni Association in The USA2. Alumni Newsletter3. Holding Alumni Meet on the last Saturday of December every year so as to facilitate participation of all interested NRI alumni.

Exam Structure

Exams were not too hectic or not even chilled out. If you attends regular classes and score good in internals then externals wont be that hectic.

Faculty

3

It was average. Few were really awesome at the same time few were really bad. But overall it was good. Students claim that the newly started departments like Civil are pathetic while Mechanical, EEE & ECE are just over average. Students complain that a lot of their lectures are taken by inexperienced faculty whoメve just finished with their own Masters or even pursuing it. CS and IS are exceptions.

Placement Experience:

Placements in our college are average. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 2nd semester. Some companies visit the college and offer jobs in different roles. The average package is around 3-4 LPA and the highest package depends on the company. After completing my degree, I plan to get a good job and gain experience in my field

Placements are good...lot of my friends got placed. But it even depends on individual intrests. At starting you get paid less but later on experience u can earn more. In case if placement doesn't happen you will still have the chance to explore outside.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The MCA course curriculum is well structured, relevant, and comprehensive. It covers core computer science subjects such as programming, data structures, databases, software engineering, and practical lab work, which influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a strong foundation for both real-world applications and further academic pursuits. With the support of good and experienced faculty, concepts are explained clearly through theory, practical sessions, assignments, and projects. Exams are conducted on a semester basis with internal assessments and end-semester examinations. The frequency and timing of exams are appropriate, and the difficulty level is moderate. Students who attend classes regularly and follow faculty guidance can perform well.
