Four Years to Learn Life

Mangament is very good and considerate. Personal attention is very good. A group of 15 people are assigned one faculty advisor. They enquire about our problems from time to time. Student to faculty ratio is very good. Everything happens in a systematic way. There are 5 marks for attendance. This ensures many people dont unnecessarily miss classes

I wrote Karnataka Common Entrance Test to join BE in Electronics and Communication at PESIT. The other options I had include, BTech in Information Science from NITK, Surathkal and MBBS at KIMS, Bangalore. I did not choose medicine because I was not much interested in medicine and biology. I chose PESIT over NITK because I was not much interested in only software and computer science. I wanted a combination of both hardware and software.

Course curriculum is good. Concepts are given emphasis. The textbooks we follow are analytical. The subjects in different semesters have a good connection among them. The electives I have taken are Digital Image Processing and Systhesis and Optimization of Digital Circuits. The other electives include Statistical Signal Processing, Linear Systems, Semiconductor Design and Operating Systems. We are also allowed to choose electives from other departments.

Interships are offered by many companies but most opportunities are for Computer Science students. Companies that hire interns are Microsoft, Intel, Canon, Bosch and many more. Stipend range from 6000 to 30000.

The placements scenes are very good for Computer Science. The highest package is 24Lakhs per annum by Code followed Citix offering 22 Lakhs, Mytra offering 18 Lakhs. Thes are all Tier 1 companies. Tier 1 companies for Electonics branches include Qualcomm offering 14 Lakhs, CISCO offering around the same as Qualcomm. Tier 2 companies include Siemens, Wipro GMT, Bosch, Mindtree and many more. The package is around 4 to 8 Lakhs for Tier 2. Tier 3 companies are TCS, Accenture, Cognizant etc. The package is within 4Lakhs.

The most important cultural event is the college fest named Atma Trisha organized every year. The event has various dance competitions, battle of bands and many more games like amazing race. It is an inter college event. There is also a science fest every year. It has various technical competions like Math Relay and Circuit Debugging. There are various hackathons happening throughout the year.

Feasible. The fees through Common Entrance Test is 47000 per year. The fee structure through KCET is cheapest in Karnataka. The fees through COMEDK is 1.25 Lakhs. This also a good amount for the facilities provided.

Good scholarships are provided every year. With scholarship the fees is only 10000 about a year. I know a handfull of of students who have recieved these scholarships. It is based on merit and need.

My college provides a conducive atmosphere for all students. The gender ratio varies from branch to branch. The ration given are all boys to girls. It is about 1:2 in biotechnology. this is a branch having more girls. In mechanical the ratio is very bad. There are about 2 to 3 girls in mechanical. In electronics and computer science, the ration is 3:1 with variations in few branches. There is no any form of discrimation based on gender, ethnicity, race, religion, polotical views or economic status. People from all over india study and everyone is treated equally. There are excellent extra curricular opportunities for all. There are many clubs and labs. This includes nokia lab, robotics club, IEEE society, debate society and many more.

The hostel and mess standards are quite good. There are individual, two or three sharing rooms. The PGs around the college are also quite good. The rental including food is around 5000 to 7000 per month

Seniors are very helpful. They provide a lot of guidance on career, higher studies and many more valuable guidance. There is a google group to interact with seniors. They are a great resource to us.

It was neither too chilled or very stressing. It was properly planned and learning happened throughout the semester. We have two internals and a final semester end exam. The exam portions and portions are also told well ahead. Both theory and labs have Continuous Internal Evaluation

The faculty are very good. All of them have a MTech and many also have a PhD. Each subject has limitation of 52 hours to be taught. This time is not enough to get into the details of everything that is taught. Faculty try their best do their best possible in the alloted time.
