Remarks

It is a very good College for Engineering students in West Bengal. The Placements are very good with top ranking MNCs hiring students each year. Also, the faculties of all the departments are quite good and supportive.

Course Curriculum Overview

Teachers are really good and supportive. The nonteaching office staffs are not that cooperative. One might face some problems at the beginning of their course dealing with them. However, academic wise the departments are quite well constructed.

Placement Experience

The placement cell is the best feature of Asansol Engineering College. All the big MNCs in India hire candidates from our college with an average package of Rs. 3-11 lakh per annum. This is one of the reasons why I chose this college in the first place.

College Events

The campus is huge, something I cannot describe in words, but it has everything one can ever imagine inside the college campus. Many shows and events take place throughout the entire year. The students take part in all such events like the annual fest, freshers party, and farewell party. Other extracurricular activities include indoor and outdoor sports, dance and singing competitions,etc.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
