Mohit Jain's Review On Rajiv Gandhi College Of Engineering And Technology, Pondicherry

I joined this particular college by attending an entrance exam which is made compulsory for all students getting admitted through management quota. I always had a passion to join Computer engineering and thus this college was the only better college in my locality. Since i am tamil nadu board student, i wasn't able to attend counselling which is held for pondicherry students. This is one particular reason for me which made me get management quota seat.

Course curriculum is very fine but the faculty is still a bit of concern. Few good faculties are there but to find best is still a search for the college. Head of the department is one among few in department who is bit exposed to industry standards. Others were just a book worm.

Internship is not taken in that much care by the college. Still i went on to a consulting company in chennai just to get a grab of industry and to get a bit of exposure. I had to pay them few bucks to let me see through developers work and industry standards. I had a stay for 1 week but hardly attended 30 hours of training.

Placement is best in the college. I was the placement representative of my department. Management tries bringing every company possible to the college. But the students take it so lightly which causes them the issue. I myself got placed to CTS which held in pondicherry university. Each and every faculty helps students prepare for placement. I give full marks for the management to provide these kind of support.

College festival is the only option left out as blank. There was college day held when i was in the first year and i had an opportunity to host the show but then on we didn't have any college day. Though we used to have department day every year but not that too grand to speak about. Just enjoy a day with dance and music. Few competitions as well will be held in such function.

For pondicherry students they provide scholarship of 10000 per year. I Don't know much about the other loans available.

College Life is best in pondicherry next to PEC. There are many girls compared to boys. This college is considered one of the safest college for girls. NO ragging whatsoever. Not even a single incident in my 4 years happened. Lab is the best in pondicherry fully equipped and lab assistant are good in knowledge helping each and every student.
