Remarks

PEC is a reputed institution. It provides enough opportunities and flexibility to students to realize whatever they are passionate about. The curriculum is also relatively modern. It is not as good as many of the IITs but is still pretty good. Before getting admission, a few people told me that PEC is an old college with is deteriorating with time. I talked to a few other people, some recent pass outs and came to know that it may not be able to inspire and improve students who aren't that intelligent passionate or self-motivated , But there is surely a lot for people with some ambition to do well in anything they like, be it academics, research, higher education, placements, sports, coding, robotics, extracurricular like drama, debating graphics, designing, singing etc. Another factor is that they have strong emphasis on real world exposure, as in everyone does a mandatory internship in 6th semester. A fantastic Alumni network is always there to help guide the students. So I took admission in PEC based on the wide variety of feedback I got

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I believe that our curriculum is decent enough. It may not be the best and most up-to date but its core is really rigorous. All basics are covered that an engineer is supposed to know along with appropriate lab sessions and practical knowledge. Certain niche topics are also taught at an advanced level to provide us the competitive edge. for example in mechanical manufacturing is taught at a really high level. appropriate infrastructure is also there . recently our college opened state of the art center of excellence. the point is that most facilities are available to students for use. Lab assistants and technicians are usually more than willing to help students with all the equipment. It is totally up to the students to take an initiative and use all the resources to learn. Faculties are like it is everywhere. A few professors are really great and knowledgeable and a few of them know nothing and are terrible. But a vast majority of them are just fine. They are good but not the most driven and passionate. It is up to the students to show interest.

Placement Experience

4.5

Carrier Development And Guidance Center (CDGC) puts in everything to help students grab the best jobs and internships. One thing is that they try to encourage core engineering opportunities more. Like in our branch, Companies like ExxonMobil Honda ITC Nestle come and provide placements

College Events

5

Our college has a large major fest in October or November. 40000 people came for the star night. It is a full-fledged event with hundreds of students working for about 2-3 months with all there dedication We have a numerous cultural clubs and technical societies, they are basically a lifeline for all students to do what they are curious about, apart from academics. one of our strong points are debating dramatics and Punjabi editorial board in cultural and coding, computing, formula and off road racing, IEEE and ASCE Our entrepreneurship cell is also very active and promotes and financially supports students in there start up by incubating them

Campus Life

3.5

We have squash courts, swimming pool, newly built synthetic tennis court, badminton court and all other basic sports infrastructure. Many labs in old departments are outdated, but some of them will be updated soon. a new Siemens center of excellence was inaugurated last year with Latest 3D-Printing machines and softwares, advanced CNC machines, rapid prototyping technology, fully automated robotic arms, friction, arc, gas, MIG, welding, Electrical Discharge Manufacturing(EDM) machines and so on. Our aerospace research facilities are renowned throughout India. We have unlimited wi-fi with decent speed. library has a very good collection and also gives access to many research journals, though few people actually them.
