Aradhya's Review On IIMV - Indian Institute Of Management, Visakhapatnam

Because this is one of the premier B school, the quality of study plus the networking opportunity is very good. MBA course is not just about studies but rather learning from peer and getting to know the corporate world a little more. I am a fresher so this was the major cause of me joining MBA in IIMV, plus a got a good score and doesn't want to waste it.

The course curriculum is good. Courses from all domain are taught to us be it either marketing, finance, operation etc. First-year is mostly common for everybody apart from few electives which we can take in our 3rd sem of the first year so as to proceed towards our intended field. Pedagogy of course is also very good. Coming on faculties, we still have to visit faculties from IIM Bangalore so that's pretty good. There is a feedback system which we have to give anonymously twice per sem and the same is shared with the batch and improvements are asked.

I was given an opportunity by HDFC bank in the area of corporate banking. The process was fairly simple, resume selection and then, GD & Personal Interview. The interview was a tricky one but I successfully sailed it through.

They are overall good since this year will be the 6th year from the date of commencing of college so keeping that in mind, it is relatives good In everything. There is enough number of companies visiting in college, as the college is student driven so placement team look Into the companies and calls good companies for placement. Our college was the first to successfully complete 100% summer placement in year 2019-20 among all tier2 - tier3 IIMs.

Our 2 annual business event HRidya & Vriddhi was conducted successfully this year too. Various industry experts came and put their viewpoint on various issues. It was very excellent and we were thrilled to be present their. Coming on to the cultural activities, this year in our annual fest Samarambh, The local trains gave their presence, it was a very reminiscing night for us all. Apart from all these various festivals from all over India took place and we wholeheartedly enjoyed being a part of it. Our Inter IIM tournament was organized in the month of November and this time we gave a tough competition to IIM B, IIM K & IIM T and won many medals.

Loan facility is easily available, the college conducts a drive on the first day where every bank of Visakhapatnam is present on the campus and you can do and inquire about the loan from any bank present there easily. The process is fast and your loan application form will be filled on that day only. In a few days, your loan will get approved and some banks even come to the hostel to hand over the documents to respective candidates.

As of now, we don't have a permanent campus but if you'll search, IIM Visakhapatnam is going to have its own campus by 2021 i.e. next year, work on that is already undergoing. Our library is at college only and it did include many books from all fields. The best thing is our digital library, where a plethora of knowledge can be accessed by its research papers, books, financial news, current ongoing news. It also has a subscription to many study websites where tons of knowledge is present. Wifi works pretty good and is accessible to almost everywhere but not during the time of examination.

We have the best hostel among any other IIM out there, just google IIM Visakhapatnam hostel 2 view and you'll know what I'm talking about. The ocean is right out our window, and you can see the horizon from there. The evening and morning are the best time when you can clearly see the sun setting and rising respectively. The best view, the best campus, not to forget about the fact that eastern naval command is in Visakhapatnam and on Navy day you'll get to see the Navy parade which includes various type of fighters, helicopters, Navy vessel and all just from your window or roof. The best thing which we are surely going to miss once we pass out from there. Every hostel room is fully equipped with AC, wifi router and other amenities.
