Remarks

Engineering College was suggested by my teachers and parents. It is a highly reputed college in West Bengal for engineering students. It is a very good placement cell. It is a very huge campus and the teachers are well known in the university (MAUKAT).

Course Curriculum Overview

Asansol Engineering College is a record of a very good result over the past few years. 90% of the students get placed every year in big MNCs. The professors are top-class and they always to help the students in every way possible.

Placement Experience

Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Wipro Technologies, IBM,Accenture India, Capgemini India, HCL,Hitachi Consulting, Amazon,Cognizant Technology Solutions, ERICSSON, Godrej & Boyce, GE Power, Cummins India, Ambuja Cement, Johnson Controls India, Linde India, Microsoft and more are the Big MNCs that hire students every year from AEC with an average salary package of 3-5 lakhs per annum.

College Events

We have a very big campus with eight buildings in total. We have a lot of extra curricular activities like sports, both indoor and outdoor, debate societies, cultural clubs, etc. we have events organised by the college throughout the entire year starting from Freshers Party to Annual Fest/Foundation Day to Farewell Party.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
