SIES GST, F.E ENGINEERING (PRINTING AND PACKAGING TECHNOLOGY)
Reviewed on Dec 16, 2015

Remarks

These 6 months have been wonderful. The faculty being strict, maintaining 75% attendance is difficult and submissions can be hectic. But at the same time teacher help when you need them. As long as you are attending lecture submit ting on time you can have fun. Fests are full of enthusiasm. Seniors persuade you to join many activities, games and events. Robotics was fun. The EDC( entrepreneurship development cell) also works well. Other than studies, almost every week there seminars conducted people from various fields are invited and we get to learn something new so I can conclude that you can enjoy in this college just keep attendance in control.

Entrance Preview

I took JEE MAINS and scored 26/360 which is not at all a good score. I wanted to go for engineering but none of typical branches exited me. Then I learnt about printing and packaging course from SIES which sounded interesting. I did little research and found out that this is the only college in whole asia to give this type of course and has 100% placement. Since it is not very popular yet getting admission was easy and now I have spent 6 months in the college and love it here. SIES institutions as all ways are exceptionally good in acadamics the crowd is also enthusiastic.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

First year is common to all branches 12 subjects in total 6 in first semester and 6 in 2nd semester rest 3 years the syllabus is different and is designed by the mumbai university.

Internships Opportunities

Not yet applied for internship but one of my senior friend who is working for HSBC bank he is from it department. The stipend is around 8000-10000 again I am not very sure of this information.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement as I mentioned earlier is 100% for this particular course big companies like cadbury, amul, etc come for placement.

College Events

3.5

We have celebrates the technical fest cognition which was a great experience. The robotic department of this college is very well equipped and has a tieup with IIT Bombay.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is as given by mumbai university t's quite feasible it's 117000/ annum and off course twfs and other schemes are there for underprivileged.

Fees and Financial Aid

SIES organisation has many schemes for loans and scholarship. I haven't applied for any of them but one can contact the principal for more information.

Campus Life

3.5

Girl boy ratio is impressive. And seniors are really very helpful overall environment of the college is calm and a little studious. Since it is a south Indian college, maximum students are from south Indian middle class families.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

College dosnt have a hostel facility but there are many hostel near the college and the canteen is well maintained and the food is awesome!and cheap at the same time.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very helpful and supportive i have worked with the robotics department in the students council. This department has a tieup with IIT bombay which looks very good in your resume.

Exam Structure

There are total 6 exams in a year 4 unit tests and 2 end sem exams plus vivas college is pretty strict with submissions and attendance as long as you have maintained an attendance of 75% you are good to going Below that can be problematic.

Faculty

5

The faculty is the best they have maintained the school like environment which is cool unlike other institutions. But they are very strict when it comes to attendance and submissions.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
