Remarks

The software development course was new and promising as it came to the Delhi university premises only an year ago. The IT field was something I was going to pursue because we all are aware of the plethora of opportunities this field opens up for a person and engineering was something I was not quite sure about since I couldn't land into any college of my preference. So I went to experience and experiment for myself in Ramanujan College. The college was not well known and so was the course so it was a bit painful to explain the whole curriculum everytime a layman asked about which course I'm in, which was about most of the times.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is enriched into various levels or parts one can find while going for a computer science course. The course is different from it's counterpart courses in the amount of industry exposure that it provided to offer to it's students. It is majorly practical and everything can be taken to a ground level of you-can-do-it-yourself. Internships have become mandatory in each semester and the course has developed somewhat after careful learnings from the first batch of the course ever made in DU. As far as the faculties are concerned, many technical skills are taught by guest lecturers who come with considerable industry experience themselves. The GEC subjects (the ones that the university assesses us on) are taught by mostly permanent faculties. 1) Mr. Vipin Rathi comes with immense talent, experience and an upper hand in the industry and has always encouraged students to go beyond curriculums. A few students have also started devout learning in the Blockchain, AR, IOT etc technologies. 2) Ms. Varsha Joshi always had a way with students and presented herself to be a stunning perfection in whatever subject she taught all across the college. Her practical approach makes the subject not-made-for-cramming and thus her classes end up to be the most filled ones. By the constant efforts of university, college and the students the course is going to bear fruits in the near future.

Placement Experience

3.5

The companies that used to visit only came with job offers in sales, marketing and BPOs. The trend has very steeply changed because of the various departmental placement cells that are running individually and successfully. They are the reasons of attracting amazing job profiles like software developer, web developers, testers, content developers to name a few, that the students are eager to get their hands on. The companies are regularly kept in touch with and any internship or job interview offer is readily accepted but only after careful considerations to the job profile and other related aspects of the same. A meet is organised by the cell and the registered students take the interview and get the results generally in a week's time and rest depends on them. The companies are kept in record for future activities like these. Talking of the alumni network, it isn't developed as of now to it's utmost potential but is moving forward in the direction. Also, an internship fair organised by the college recently has also helped in improving the college's reputation which in turn is also an important pre-requisite in attracting companies to offer attractive profiles and try out the best of the talents that the college is nurturing. A few of the alumni students have also started working on Startups that are sure to be developed into something worth it. And why only the alumni? Students currently pursuing their studies, are also trying their luck in the startup industry.

College Events

4

The college being new ( separated from Deshbandhu College in 2015) has started to pick up pace and now more people are aware of it. There are different societies that work in an organised fashion. Each society always has something bustling in there so the event calendar is always full be it for small or big events. And since at the end it is the Ramanujan College that we are the students of and want it to grow so at the end and action time you can see overwhelming number of volunteers ready to raise the flag high. And Thus you can always find everybody good in everything or something that can be used to make the event a hit. Considering the fame for this newbie college, the events aren't done on a very large platform but never get us stop rolling our eyes on its unexpected success. The events are growing and more and more crowd is pulled via extensive marketing techniques used by the fresh minds. The college is the home for the very famous RamCom events, Entrepreneurship Conclave, Diwali Mela, the first of it's kind Non-Teaching Staff Workshop (3 day), and Various such events that are gradually gaining popularity among the DU crowd.

Campus Life

4

The campus is newly built and is still under beautification and some construction work. The labs are equipped with LAN to work upon the laptop sets available for above 40 students easily and still bearing some space for easy movement. The library is also equipped with softwares to track the placement of the books searched in the shelf and their availability. The college boasts of a well maintained cricket ground, football ground and a gymnasium. And development is of course a continuous process so we can expect more.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 4th or 5th semester. Deloitte , Bain & company, PWC ,EY, Grant Thornton (for consulting services) offer the highest package to roles like analyst and accountant. Other companies such as ICICI Bank, Kotak securities , Inshorts , Urban company,HUL, Wipro,ITC hotels , Appollo Hospital etc. the highest package recorded in 2024 was 23.05 LPA and average package as 6 LPA . 85-90% of the eligible students get the placement, the data might vary as some students opt for 4th year for their research work. My plans after getting the degree lie in marketing or consulting field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I to be honest don't like my course much but it's not too bad also , it does allow you to have a practical exposure along side your studies. As the pressure of syllabus is not much. Teaching methods are not too good also but not bad too. The difficulty level is not much.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the curriculum on the basis of its heay emphasis on the software development part. It is not really reflects itself in the real-world application, I had to pursue other option to grow my skills. It needs to make it better in the project and application department. They need to work on some real life projects. Frequency of the exams: On the semester basis Nascom exams: Yearly basis Difficulty: Easy
