Remarks
I wanted a government medical College in my state and I was alloted this according to my score in Neet exam. The only things I like about my college are that 1st it is a government medical College and 2nd it is in the capital of my state Dehradun which is a beautiful city.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course: MBBS. The faculty is ok as compared to other colleges but it has many issues. Specially the infrastructure, hostels and facilities. Moreover the staff here is overly strict and rude specially the teachers. This college is situated in a very small area as compared to other government medical colleges of Uttrakhand. Hostel specially the girls hostel is a matter of concern. Girls here are stuffed in a room like a holiday packing of stuff. Other facilities like games and outdoors are also less as ground and area is less. And one important demerit is hospital is far away from college. So you have to finish your breakfast in a hurry in order to catch the bus to hospital otherwise you are going to be late. No faculty would care if it was your bus or the traffic responsible for being late. They gonna scream at you. And won't give you attendance.
Placement Experience
Obviously if you pass out as a doctor you don't need to worry much. You will get a job if you go for placement. Because India is poor in medical staff. Although you may not get that much stipend for your hard work. But yeah you will get a job
College Events
Overall it is ok. But if you are looking for better options then GMC haldwani and SGRR are the one. One thing every college student is interested in is college fest. Our college conducted our 1st fest last year. And we hope maybe we get a chance to see college fest one more time before we pass out. Because it's just depend on the Dean dicision to conduct a fest or not. And yeah. You be ready to save some money because people gonna beg for money for some or the other events here, doesn't matter if you are interested in it or not. College is not going to give money for the events
Fees and Financial Aid
I tried to avail for a scholarship but they refused. At times they tell me something and other times they just ignore. Sometimes they tell me to bring this document, sometimes others. They keep on rambling me. Sometimes I think they don't want me avail any benefit.
Campus Life
WiFi facility available for students. classrooms are well equipped. library facilities for reading n take home given. IT labs for students free access anytime given.canteen and railway concession privileges provided.gymkhana for sports is present.
Hostel Facilities
There are so many girls in one single room. Juniors are being stuffed. New hostel is still in construction. Don't know how many more years will they take. Be ware warden is very strict and a little phyco
