Remarks
Oldest IIIT, all IITian faculty, autonomous institute, good placement record, nice campus. A good coding culture. The Course and exams are structured like that of IITs. Comfortable study environment. Supportive administration in the area of providing funding to attend competitions and travel
Course Curriculum Overview
The course syllabus is relatively good but a little outdated. Some faculty is pretty good while some are not as good. particularly math professor, Dr. Joydip Dhar is a good teacher and taught core topics well.
Placement Experience
There have been placements in Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Dell and other leading companies. Most of these are in campus. The alumni network is strong. The entrepreneur cell has held workshops and seminars by leading personalities and aim to provide mentorship.
College Events
We had a huge cultural fest- Aurora sponsored by coca cola which hosted thousands of students from all over the country. We also had sunburst campus be the evening atttactions. We also had a inter house sports tournament and frequent informal competitions like debates, quizzes, charades etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are loans available. I didn't opt for them. I didn't opt for any loans. There are no particular scholarships but the fees is lower for ST, SC students. And loans are provided by several leading banks.
Campus Life
Infrastructure is quite good. We have a fully equipped sports complex and host inter-IIIT tournaments. The WiFi in the library and reading room is exceptionally good, the ethernet in hostels is also very fast. Lab equipment is also nice and frequently replaced.
Hostel Facilities
All the girls get a single room. Most of the boys also get single rooms which is not very common for a government college. The hostels are quite beautiful, all made of sandstone like material. The mess is also quite good all things considered. The campus is fully residential so everyone has to stay in hostels. The fees isn't very high, about 25k for one semester.(6 months)(hostel+mess)
