By scoring good rankI took admission by clearing entrance exam and i select through counselling of west Bengal joint Entrance exam where stream was provided through counselling. I was interested in engineering specialty in mechanical for my bright future so that time i choose.

Course Curriculum Overview

My syllabus is not updated for a while, they teach us with old edition books. Somnath ghosh faculty of mechanical engineering is good teacher with great & deep knowledge of mechanical engineering, he is one of the best in BCET

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 392000 per year

Placement Experience

College claim for good placement and all but they are not capable to bring companies that they promise. A few companies came for core brance with a less amount of package which make students least interested. Other branches have good placement non core but core brach have least opportunity for core companies. Non core brance have more opportunities with pretty initial package.

College Events

It was pretty good, many events with enthusiastic festival and technology fest with good no. Of participants take part in that kind of fest cultural program. Lekin Robonix ASHA Event, National service scheme took palce in the college premises.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

BCET Durgapur.Good campus but bad faculty and placement opportunities.

I say this earlier. First of all my JEE rank was little bit low, so I can't get any govt college. And at that time the CSE fees in almost every private college is arround 4 lakhs. But they asked high donation. Which was not affordable by my family. So I choose this college. Also I hear all private colleges are same.we have to do everything by ourselves. Faculties don't help us properly. And for admission you have to give WB JEE entrance exam. Other than that nothing. Also you can have a direct admission....Read More
