Moments Exploring the Journey of My College Life

My College was the best. Made me realize how to enjoy my life. Really a nice place to be in. Ever lasting moments were conquered during my college days. My college provided me every platform to be recognized among all and a very good knowledge and social life to live in.

Karnataka CET Exam. As I was interested in Computer field and wanted to explore my world in Computers, I opted for Information Science which is similar to Computer Science.

Every Semester consisted of different electives. During 6th Semester electives consisted of Computer Graphics and Operational Research. I had opted for Computer Graphics then during final year the electives where Computer Architecture, Project Management, Mathematics, Nano materials, Business Intelligence, Software Architecture and some of the electives were cancelled.I had opted for Project Management, Business Intelligence, Software architecture which I felt to be important subjects.

During my batch around 54 companies visited our campus. Really good opportunities. Average package of my batch was 3.76LPA. Some of the companies I remember were Mindcraft, TCS, Persistent Systems, Oracle CGBU, Sony, Informatica, MindTree, HP, KPIT, Y-Media, Retail On, Metric Stream, MSPL, Sankalp Semiconductors, AlcatelLucent and many. Very few internship opportunities were available.

Really good number of placements occured during my batch and around 337 students were placed across many companies.Some of the companies with their offer packages are Mindcraft (2.5LPA), TCS(3.1LPA), Persistent Systems(3.58LPA), Oracle CGBU(7.5LPA), Sony(5LPA), Informatica(4.7LPA), MindTree(3.3LPA), HP(3.5LPA), KPIT(3.3LPA), Y-Media(4.2LPA) and many.

Many events took place during my college life. The most important ones are the Fiesta, an inter college level fest which takes place in every odd semester and Insignia, a national level fest that takes place every even semester for upto 7 lakh prize money. Both of these fests include technical as well as cultural events

The fee structure was feasible for me as I got a seat through my CET exams of Karnataka.The management Fee structure was also feasible during my batch but now its increased. The admissions take place through CET ranks, ComedK ranks and Management seats. The CET fee during my time was 40000, Comedk was 115000 and the management fee varied depending on Branches the students opted.

I don't have any idea about the scholarship /loan facility offered by my college. But there are scholarships for every student in one or the other way from college. Due to some procedures I couldn't check it out.

As I Know there were many other extracurricular activities, sports competitions conducted in our college. Myself had participated in two of the sports events namely volley ball and googly cricket( Small team consisted of 6 members). The cultural in our college was awesome. There was no differentiation among students on the grounds of race, religion,

The hostel rooms were good to be lived in. Every facility was available at hostel. The facilities at girls hostel included parlour, filter water, TV room, Wifi and indoor playing ground. Apart from parlour boys hostel included all the things mentioned in girls hostel. Mess food was really good with variety of items every day following a weekly routine starting from breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner.

My college seniors were pretty good. They were more of friends than to be seniors. Very interactive through the academics and in strengthening our basics. Alumni provided us the scope and knowledge about the outside life beyond the college life and were very supportive. Infact they are one of the helping hands in shaping our career during our college days. I respect my seniors for being in such a good relation with us.

The exam pattern was like - we had 2 set of continuous assessment tests or internals and 1 set of improvement test and finally end semester exams in every semester. It was not at all hectic but inturn it was interesting to give those exams. Labs were really knowledgeable with all practical concepts. The final semester result was evaluated by taking 50% marks from end semester exam and 50% marks from the internals or continuous assessment test.

The faculty in college are truely resourceable people. The faculty which I had in my branch were like my family and my branch was called ISE(Information Science Engineering) Family. So I can really say they were the best among all other faculties. Each and every moment always encouraging us to do some or the other creative work. Always the charm of learning was around us due to such enthusiastic persons. Gave us the knowledge in such a way that we could complete the semester of any topic on its one day class itself. Other branch faculties also provided us the necessary support being good to us.
