It is the 3rd best college in India regarding Power Electronic after IISc and IITK. This college has the best placement record in India. The course structure includes all current research topics from Drives, Renewable Energy, Facts, MMC and all kind of research projects are available under faculty to work under. The faculty are leaders of technology in India.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum includes all current research topics from drives, machines, renewables, facts, power software. The student has to work on year-long Industrial projects, so we get trained on tackling real-life product development and Alumni say it has helped them in the industry.
Placement Experience
Major Power Electronics companies like GE, Eaton, Bajaj, Murata, Hitachi, Honeywell, Sedemac, Schneider, Siemens, Mercedes Benz, Bosch have been recruiting from my branch. The Alumni network is excellent for UGs, but a work in progress and a long way to go for Masters Students. Many Alumni have become faculty in IITs, some here itself in IITB like Sandeep Anand, MChandorkar, Bharat. Since our program is research-based, students are advised to work on projects and Companies recruit on basis of them. Companies are invited by Placement Cell. Placement Cell has properly planned the calendar for recruitment season and training workshops.
College Events
IIT Bombay has the best campus life. There are separate technical clubs for each department and many interdisciplinary clubs. Tech activities, events, training workshops, competitions happen all around the year. MoodIndigo is Asia's largest TechnoManagement Fest. Students from all over the world participate in it. There is a separate app on the play store IITBCulturals and it has a proper calendar for activities charted out.
Fees and Financial Aid
Various Loans are available for the laptop to tuition fees. There are 2 banks inside the campus, which provide loan just after admission without any documents. Scholarships are available for Sc ST Ews students. Masters and Ph.D. students get stipends.
Campus Life
IIT Bombay has the best sports facilities indoor cricket, basketball, volleyball. Multistorey gymkhana, swimming, one main ground, hockey ground, NCC ground. Apart from its gym in all 18 hostels and badminton and indoor games facility in all hostels. Wifi and ethernet are available in each and every room. The library has the rarest of rare books, but no copies are less, so popular books should be purchased on their own.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is on a sharing basis. Fees are nominal 2000 annual. PG is very expensive in 8000 to 20000. Hostel rooms are provided to all BTech, Masters, and Ph.D. students. Research scholars may not get rooms.
