Remarks
I think BMCC was a very good college in terms of imparting education and all the students as well as the professors were very dedicated and good to us. We have very good memories of our college and are happy that we studied there.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course was okay and I would have preferred a more practical oriented course. The curriculum can be more industry specific so that students are groomed to meet the sector demands. We had no industry visits during our tenure in college. Placements were also not organised by the institution
Placement Experience
We did not get any placement opportunities from our college. One had to further educte oneself to be able to get any placement
College Events
I was a player in the college ladies hockey team and hence played all matches at the inter-collegiate level as well as inter-university and inter-zone levels. Besides this we had cultural events in the college like the annual day, dance competitions etc. Participation in these are overwhelming and everyone enjoys them thoroughly
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees were not very expensive and we had to normally deposit them directly into the bank. I did not have to pay any additional amount to get admission into the college. The breakdown of the fee structure was very clear to us and there was no ambiguity in the same
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college did not offer any scholarships. The fees too were not very high and most students did not require any scholarship
Campus Life
In my college days, females opted less for commerce as it was more of boys domain. Hence the ratio was about 65-70% boys to 30-35% girls. The girls were given a lot of importance since they were far & few. Our college promoted extracurricular activities such as sports, competitions, debates etc. I participated in the sports activities and they were organised very well
Hostel Facilities
I did not opt for the hostel as i lived in same city. Our college had only a boys hostel and girls lived in other hotels or as a PG. The hostel rental in those days was not very high - about Rs.1500-2000 per month.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors in college were very nice to us and never troubled us. They were helpful and wanted to be friends with the juniors.
Admission
I opted for this course because I was interested in commerce and business. Admission was purely on merit basis. BMCC college is the best in Pune for Commerce studies and hence selected this college. For admission into this college, we had to fill in the admission form with details of schooling done and the proof of achievements in terms of scores in SSC
Faculty
There were about 8 lecturers for our course with average age of about 40-42 yrs. Some of them had the sills to reach into the students minds and giving full clarity about the subject matter they taught.Only in those days the relevant industry experience was not given to the students, which might have helped us to go one step further in our career
