Great College - Shegaon

No bad remarks. When there are so many good things along with restricitions (being Gajanan Sansthan), obviously there are certain negatives which ppl talk but I have taken it in quite a positive way as it use to help us in our future only.

Its on % basis in Physics+Chemistry+Maths & I applied Outside Maharastra (I am from MP) category seat. I heard about this college from local seniors & it was good as it has its own trust as management.

Course content at that time (in 1996-2000) was slightly theorotical but we have regular classes & mandatory 80% attendance. Hence, had nice overview in class. Electives in final yr i took was satellite communication but overall environment in college was quite good & hence felt of getting lot many other learnings other than studies as well.

Frankly speaking, at my time no company came in but thereafter we have got quite a good placement (companies like TCS, infy, satyam (TechM now) use to come in.

Since last 6-8 years, its doing quite well. Students are moulded in 4 yrs in such a nice way that along with studies, they learn lot many other things (like meditation, yoga etc).

Technical event & cultural event use to be celebrated once in every year & all students are encouraged to take part in it. Further, students were inspired to take part in IEEE for presenting white papers along with research papers.

At that time for OMS (outside Mah state), it was not that expensive - less than 2 lakh for 4 yrs course. Now i think it may be a little high. Also the hostel facility along with food was decent.

Scholarship facility was provided to bright / top students but i have not availed any nor i was a topper .

Campus is quite huge & quite a good facility - gym/library/sports ground is there along with meditation hall/yoga. Along with it we have good hostels separate for boys/girls (separate from 1st to final yr). Atmosphere is made quite nice & due to sansthan college, no non-veg is allowed inside which is its best part.

Exam structure was from Amravati university (each subject divided in 6 units & we use to have quartely/half-yearly & annual exams). These make us well prepared for finals. Labs were quite up-to date (especially electrical, computer labs).

Some of the faculty was really good (example: Maths in First yr, DSP & ECD in 3rd/Final yr along with Electrical faculty). Other faculties were also quite helpful when it comes to have certain queries/doubts.
