A note on Cooch Behar Government Engineering College

They are really co-operative and are available for taking care of the students during almost any hour of the day. On account of being located somewhat remotely, they take special care to maintain safety in the hostels, especially the female hostel.

The course curriculum is really research driven and exam oriented, as is the case with other colleges under my university MAKAUT too. Frequent webinars androbotics workshops are conducted in the college all year round which further helps in grooming the students professionally.

I have not yet availed any, until my second year and I intend to do so soon. However, there are other senior students as well as students from my own batch who have procured internships either through the college or by personal means.

There are namely two annual events, the technical cum cultural fest ESPERANZA and the Freshers to welcome newcomers called CROESO. Both events involve active participation and a variety of eventofto trigger the creative auras of every student. Apart from that, frequent independant low fund events are also conducted by the various college clubs.

The fee structure is very feasible and cheap, it can be easily afforded by poor and lower muddle class students.There is some caution money to be submitted at the very beginning. Plus, unless you are taking admission through mop up counselling rounds, you don't need to pay extra.

There are both government and non-governmental bursaries and scholarships that are offered to students in need.

The gender ratio is kind of demotivating for female students but all the other facilities are more or less satisfactory. Sports are especially good, with the college bagging gold in football two years in a row in the intra state all colleges football tournament. Quizzing and technical projects are also paid special attention to.

Yes, I live in hostel. Rooms are usually shared between three in first year and between two during both second and third year. Fourth year students can avail single rooms if they choose to. PGs are also both easily and cheaply available, with most of them being self-catered.

Most of them are super helpful and friendly and provide us insight and experience based knowledge. I can proudly say that this is a zero ragging campus.

Since this is a state government affiliated institution, the entrance pricedure is conducted on the basis of the merit ranks acquired by students in the state technical entrance called WBJEE. This college has an outstanding location, right by the banks of River Torsha and is a relatively new college with newer and more advanced infrastructure.

They are really co-operative and friendly and most of them actively help out with their information and experience while assisting in webinars, class lessons and projects.They also take keen interest in providing the students with managerial support during the several college events and help them pursue co-curriculars too.
