Entrance Preview
I took the WBJEE after passing out of 12. Frankly, the college was under the banner of the Techno Group, affiliated with the state university of Engineering and thus placements are pretty decent. Also, the college is close by my home, and about 20 minutes by bus from Haldiram, which is on the VIP road, thus communication is not a problem.
Course Curriculum Overview
The professors, while admittedly, not top of the batch, are pretty good. Not only that, they will try teaching you. However, if you do not want to attend college, that is your prerogative. The attendance is not that frowned upon. You can literally sail through the final year even if your attendance is low.
Internships Opportunities
There is no stipend in BTech. However, since the college is under the Techno banner, there is no problem with landing a decent college arranged internship. These are usually conducted at IBM or Wipro.
Placement Experience
The placement are actually good, which can not be said about most other colleges. Yet another advantage of being under the Techno Group. I personally got placed in TCS, but I left that and went for a research fellowship at DRDO Labs (there was no help from college regarding that I myself privately applied).
College Events
There is the general fest, which is nothing to rave about. Nothing really exciting goes on in this sector. However, the main Techno fest is not too shabby.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure, while expensive by the standards of West Bengal, is nothing compared to what is generally charged in the rest of India. I paid 2.5 lakhs as a general student in the course of 4 years.
Fees and Financial Aid
Not that I know of, but they allow the general student loans that you can avail from across several banks available in this part of Kolkata.
Campus Life
Labs are actually goo. Unlike most other colleges, we have the space to develop and set up the infrastructure. Debates and such are mainly restricted to the fests.
Faculty
Faculty, especially in computer science, is pretty good. They will not bother you though, if you do not wish to attend class. So, the prerogative to study has to be from your side.
