Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Again our college gave ample opportunity to face the job options as well as entrepreneurship. Three hostels were full of resident Indians as well as foreigners from Sri Lanka, Singapore, Indonesia, etc. Science stream, Arts and Commerce were handled by expert professors. In language ed classes they were mingled so as to know the other (group) side of a student. Campus placement had not started in those days but certainly, the tag MCC was sufficient in any interviews. The survey conducted by statisticians from M C C had a good opinion and used to be published in the daily newspaper as well as magazine.

Placement Experience

Very best in my time. Again placement was not a trend in those days. When we write our c v, we mention our college name. Perhaps that influenced many. Madras Christian college. Gentlemen of MCC. Many joined Armed Forces. Preferred govt jobs to join. Many went abroad for further study. Now many retired in top posts as time has passed

College Events

5

Time has passed but still memory doesn't fade. Technical festival limits to science exhibition where models of manufacturing units had displayed. Aero modeling used to be a sport. cultural festivals used to be a feast. Chief Minister MGR, Karunanidhi frequently visited our college. Tamilvanan a publisher gave q&a session on any subject. Xmas festival, mmh all now thing of past memory. Many attracted crowd from the resident public as well as from city as our college was 15 kilometers away from the city hub.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I did not have this problem. The college had counter functioning from morning to evening. Even if you fail to pay fees they will never charge you or put your name on the notice board or humiliate you. A gentle reminder will come as and when the next payment is due. Many people residing in hostels used to overspend and face hardships but escaped by this kind attitude. What more to say.

Campus Life

4.5

Our college was a famous coeducation college when many other colleges were not. The ratio in men dominated college may workout to 1:9. The college had different hostels for ladies to gents. Say 1hostel for ladies to 3 for men. In classes, they (ladies) used to sit in the front row only. Awesome student diversity. As I have mentioned earlier in a cosmopolitan college we had our own diversified state students along with foreign students. Even if one comes in their special attire on their special festival/ birthdays it used to be a treat for everyone to watch. Many races and multiple religions. HH Dalai lama's personal assistant now is a one year senior to me. The economic status graph is wild. Wards of Malayala panorama, pilot theatre, film actors son/ daughter used to come in imported cars just to say hello. Also had middle-class padakus. College admitted students from underprivileged also.

Alumni/Alumna

Still strong and going well.I am a member of the alumnae association which frequently disclose various affairs of the college. Their meetings scheduled. Able to trace old students through FB, LinkedIn. Gives immeasurable pleasure in knowing their welfare. In certain cases, I was able to help the needy. Anyhow old friends classmates are a class apart for every one of us. They take us through mere quoting anectodes and zoom we go to past.

Admission

My home town is Chennai and we lived in Tambaram. I studied in college high school and just jumped the compound wall to get into college. So close. My college was a famous one. Celebrities like Dr. Radhakrishnan, Gemini ganeshan, my father sqn Ldr (first parachute jumping instructor IAF) TSGopalan(demonstrator, chemistry)all add flavors to it. We had an excellent library. We were called gentlemen from a Christian college. Scores of Armed Force selection and govt postings were regular. We all streams to follow. Science, arts, and commerce. Present coca-cola COO is an alumna. Many from Tata's. Many more from the press. Cosmopolitan college from coorge, many stalwarts studies. Still remember Harsha Hambi, a cricket commentator's voice. Unforgettable Gemini's sixer. Ashok Kamath's article in sports star. If the horse in memory run your 250 words will not suffice.

Faculty

Yes, interesting. Let me talk from the top. Mr. Chandran Devanesan was principal and what a wonderful person he was. Once he remarked ' a student forgot the word for "kink" and he wrote in Tamil 'murukku' in that place. He did not deduct any marks and gave him full marks. Also, he corrected the equivalent on his score sheet. His team was good. My sports officer Shot. David gave me a big hug unexpectedly when I went to meet his regarding opening a chess club. We did it. Every professor were qualified and professional. It is time now to pass on the knowledge to younger one's which I am doing.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well structured and relevant to current academic and real world needs,it hepls built astrong foundation knowledge especially in my field geography, the syllabus also supports preparation for competitive exams and higher education. Exams are conducted regularly and difficulties level is moderate, which helps in consistent preparation, however adding more practical assessments instead of only theoretical exams would be beneficial Overall the curriculum is good but it can be improved by including updated topics more hands on learning, and modern teaching methods

The courses are well structured and interesting espcially the social psychology and basic psychology papers. in a semester there are 2 internal exams and they will be at least a month apart from each other. as long as you study your course materials, the exams are pretty easy however otherwise it might be a tough one. the courses are well structured espcially the social and basic psychology. and in some semesters, there will be a reading period where students are encourged to go and read in the Library.. The Curriculum served as a base for Internships and basic understanding but it is required to do masters to get a job in psychology filed
