My Engineering College Experience

Had a wonderful experience with my college staffs and colleagues. I would like to give 10/10 for the campus,hygiene, management staff, food, hostel,transport,facilities. I would give 9/10 for department staffs as they need to be updated and teach practical lessons about industrial application with current working examples. 8/10 for library facility as there are only few available books for students (only 2 for 5 ratio). 7/10 for sports as my college needs to extend their support more on sports facilities and training students. My overall score will be 8.5/10 for Sri Sairam College of Engineering

The course curriculum is good and we would have 3 Internal tests and model test before going for Each semester examination. This made us to cover all the topics better. However, most part of the lecturers dont teach practical part of the topics which are used in the day to day industrial applications with some examples. They will just read the books and finish the chapters.Students are not groomed for placements until they reach their final semester. I had the opportunity to go for 4 industrial visits each year during my term. It was very knowledgeable to visit and learn some practical lessons.

My college gave us good placement opportunities and trained us well ahead of our placements. However, there are only few companies came from my background domain like Caterpillar, L&T rest every placement companies are related to software such as TCS, INFOSYS, TECH MAHINDRA, WIPRO, BOSCH, CAPGEMINI. First round would be aptitude test followed by group discussion and then personal interview with recruiting manager. On an average, 100-200 students will be placed in my college.

College day, Department Symposium, Milagro fest, sports day, are some of the important events celebrated in my college. Everywhere from Bangalore and neighbouring TamilNadu state college students will come to our college to participate.Our college students will be given great opportunities during events and symposiums to showcase our talents.

Fee structure is feasible compared to other colleges. My program fee for each year is around 90K with hostel fee as 50K. The mode of payment is through check. they charged me additional stationary fee every year. For home goers, they charged bus fees as 25K.

No i didn't opt for any scholarship or education loan. Yes, my college management provided scholarships for academic performers and other needy students depending upon their financial situations. average scholarship will be 20K each year.

My College life is fantastic. Had opportunity to meet people from various states of India. The gender ratio would be 60 percent male and 40 percent Female. The management and students are friendly and very helpful. The practical labs, indoor and outdoor sports environment is neatly maintained with all safety precautions. There is no serious situation arise during my stay in college with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status. It is a peaceful college with peaceful people. They conducted many robotics, quiz and debate competitions in our campus. One of my friend won robotics competition and went to IIT Guwahati to participate finals.

Yes i stayed in hostel for 4 years. My hostel environment is pleasant and the rooms are toilets are cleaned everyday with proper precautions. The overall hygiene is excellent and i didn't had any problems regarding my stay. All rooms should be shared by 4 members and each year i paid 50K as my hostel fee. The quality of food is excellent and they maintained the same standard throughout my tenure. The location is green and i was able to breath some fresh air during my hostel stay.

They are absolutely kind persons. I was blessed to have such a wonderful seniors. they taught me on how to survive after finishing the college term. My college used to arrange alumni meet every year and they will ask our alumnis to speak regarding their experience outside the campus. they used to share us their struggles and how to overcome them.

Sri Sairam College of Engineering is a reputed educational institute in Southern Part of India. My parents got few suggestions from their colleagues regarding the institutes performance over the years and its their decision to join me in the institute. I was interested in taking electrical and electronics domain due to my interest in physics. However, i didn't get merit seat nor take up any entrance exam due to my average performance in Higher school. So i had no other choice but to get the management quota seat. i paid and got the admission in B.E-EEE and joined the institute in the year September 15 of 2011.

There were about 25 lecturers in my department with average age between 35-50. Most of them had Mtech degrees and 3 of them had PHD degree including my HOD. As per sairam college, my department staffs and HOD are very friendly and transparent. i can reach any staff directly from the department and clarify my doubts. They also helped me to overcome my personal problems, which is very rare quality among my staff members. They provided me worksheets and detailed notes whenever i asked them. Some of my lecturers had work experience in power plant industries, so it helped me a lot to grab more knowledge during my final year project.
