Remarks

The college has been managed by professional management team. They are very experienced and qualified to hold the respective posts.

Entrance Preview

I scored 76.40 % in my Xth (SSC) exams which ensured that I get an admission to the best commerce college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

It was as per the University of Mumbai guidelines. However, I think that the curriculum should be upgraded after every 5 years in line with the changing times.

Internships Opportunities

Our course need not require us to undergo any internship program. However, being part of the college festivals was good enough to give us corporate experience.

Placement Experience

5

Since ours was the best college we had the best commerce minds in the city. Almost 80% of the students enrolled for Chartered Accountancy course during their college which enabled them to have better job opportunities afterwards.

College Events

4.5

Umang' was the name of the annual college fest organised by our college. It was one of the most sought after college fests in the city attended by students of almost all the colleges.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since the college was affiliated with the University of Mumbai, the fee structure was very reasonable, with nominal fees for girl students. We also had scholarship programs.

Fees and Financial Aid

No fees were charged to girl students. Also, the college offered scholarship programs to students who excelled in extra-curricular activities also.

Campus Life

3

The college had a very balanced gender ratio. There were many cultural days being celebrated in the college along with the annual festivals. We had special quotas for the gujarati community.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Most of the students in the college resided in the same city, hence the college did not provide any hostel facility.

Alumni/Alumna

We have a very strong Alumni association and they have been very instrumental in have the best campus placements for the fresh students. The seniors are very approachable for guidance.

Exam Structure

The exam structure was pre-decided by the University of Mumbai - 2 Unit tests and 2 Semester exams. The exams days were characterised by full attendance in the college libraries and auditorium.

Faculty

4.5

There was a mix of faculty - young and old - which was very good at their subjects. We had faculties who were authors of the reference books used by students across the city.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
