Remarks

My college life was a bag full of happiness. I met with some great teachers, made some friends for lifetime, graduated my college with good marks and a job (yes even being to course where the jobs are very specific), had some great mentors and seniors. I had some of the best part of my life in college with some great people.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Course and the curriculum of the college is continuously revised and updated. The course materials depends upon the teacher in charge to either make it research driven or boring lectures. For science courses the syllabus is research driven and the teacher motivate to take up various research projects under them.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement cell of the college is one of the best clubs or college cell to join. It provides students with various opportunity of internship and placements throughout the year. All you need to do is simply register yourself with the placement cell of the college. the placement cell organizes an internship fair where you can apply for any internship that you wish for. I also got placed by applying for a position through placement cell.

College Events

4.5

All national holidays and events, ganesh chaturthi(off only in this college, a blessing you can say), kite flying festival, sports event and tournaments, department fests. The annual college fest Nexus is one of the most reputed and most hyped festivals of Delhi university which spans for three days. The vey first day is Sufi night where usually ghazal, quawaali or sufi songs are performed by well renowed artists. Second day is rock night where popular Djs or bands perform. The very last day is star night where the main performance of nexus is delivered by a well renowed star which is usually decided by the Student union and the college administration on the basis of budget and availability. Ever year nexus has a new theme for fest on which the college fest is based.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The total fee for my course was around 38000, yes the fees charged is feasible. Fee payment can be made either through paytm, gpay, cheque or demad draft, neft/rtgs. Yes, there is a clear transparency in the fee structure breakdown and college also provides scholarship to students on various grounds.

Fees and Financial Aid

I applied for CSSS scholarship that is provided by the CBSE. The amount offered is 10000 but you need to do a lot of paperwork and travel for that. You can also apply for Inspire scholarship which offers 80000 yearly over the graduation period (3 years), however you need to renew the scholarship and maintain your score to avail the benefit of scholarship over the graduation period. The college also offers various scholarship to the students on the grounds of economically weaker group outstanding performance and many more criteria. Much detailed information of these scholarship is provided in the administration section of the college.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is good well balanced. i would say the gender ration would be of 60:40 and may vary from course to course. A number of extra curricular activities are promoted by the college which ranges from sports, seminar, debates, workshop, meets, blood donation, social cause awareness, marketing and many more. The college as i mentioned before is one of the most reputed college in DU thus the events that took place were quite high standards. Once a year an alumni meet was held for the alumni students.

Hostel Facilities

4

No, there are very limited seats available for hostel accommodations. From each course two seats are available one for boy and the other for girls hostel. The hostel facility is only available to those who have applied for hostel and have cleared the cutoff (yes there is a separate cut off list for hostel admission as well depends on percentage, interview, distance of hometown from college and many other criteria). Also to mention the hostel is situated in the campus at around 100mtrs distance and the hostel fee is very less as compared to PGs that are available in the near market area with a monthly rent of 10000 for a decent room on sharing basis while the hostels monthly fee is 6000 approx along with mess and no extra electricity charges that are charged by the PG's on 10Rs unit basis that leads to a extra montly charge. SO i would say f you get hostel it will be a lot better for you and you can save some pocket money too. (no travel, no food expenses, no electricity and repair charges that are charged by the PG's)

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students will the ones that will be the most helping and caring ones throughout your college life. They will help you out in any problem you are in be it studies or any other life issue. They are the ones you can look upto for anything if you are on good bonding terms. They will help you in admission criteria, exams, college admin problems and anything you ask them for. I am lucky that i had some good seniors and we are still in touch.

Admission

Yes, i got admission in the college on the basis of merit list The cutoff list was announced on the basis of core science subject marks in class 12th examination. My core science aggregrate was 95 which was fulfilled by the cutoff criteria. On the day of admission, first you need to get all your marks verified from the college official staff, then need to procced to office counter where they will hand over the admission forms that you need tob fill in and submit. Once all the documents are verified and you submit your originals in the college you are applicable to pay fees and your admission is confirmed. The cut off are generally announced in the month of May/June. The admission process has now started online as well.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college is just like two sides of coins. Some faculty members are so helpful and caring that will help you even after college time or with your personal problems. While on the other hand some faculty members like themselves to play pitty politics or have some personal vendetta against students for some or the other purpose.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum consists of relatable topics and interesting ones as well this is what quite influenced me to take this course. We have labs which help us learn how to prepare various organic compounds which are used in many day to day products . The course also has a 4th year research program. There should be more equipments in lab for the research. The frequency is good for exams being conducted and there level is also quite good

The students become eligible for the placements provided by the college in their 3rd year, while they can pursue internship offered by the college in previous years. Average sized companies visited the campus with lots of students being placed for jobs. The highest package I am not aware of but lowest was of around 300000 pa. I plan to pursue masters after my graduation degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. I don't know a lot about campus placements but I know that there is a training and placement cell in our college that provides good packages to many students. Some students got more than 7lpa last year. I will be doing my Post graduation after college and will make a career in academics.
