Remarks

The college is very good for students who want to read and understand everything that is there in the book. But if very restrictive for people thinking out of the box. The college always focussed on creating a batch of disciplined students instead of trying to bring out your inner potential.

Entrance Preview

After completing my SSC i joined SIES college of commerce where did my junior college and bachelor of commerce degree.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum was as per mumbai university from Junior college till my completion of bachelor of commerce degree. The curriculum included the basics of commerce and was very limited to understanding the overall concept with very little emphasis on advanced knowledge and application.

Internships Opportunities

I have done my bachelors of commerce course from SIES college as per the course requirement, there is no internship required. However i would like to bring to the notice of whomsoever it concerns, that the college had many multinational banks comming in for campus recruitments in the next 2 to 3 years after my passing out banks like deutsche bank and nomura.

College Events

1

SIES college of commerce had a yearly intercollege festival called Fanta, SIES earlier the festival used to go on for 5 days of which the 5th day was the annual day for the college students. The participation was open to all students. Students could freely choose if they wanted to participate for any event or volunteer as a part of the organising committee.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for the Junior college seemed pretty expensive when compared to other colleges offering the same course. But on moving to the degree course, the fee structure of SIES college of commerce and economics seemed at par with rest of the colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship or loan faciltity was provided or offered by the college. In cases where there is a genuine problem faced by the student, approaching the management or the principal could be helpful. As i mentioned earlier, the faculty of the college are very helpful.

Campus Life

3

The gender ratio was pretty skewed, but that seems to the case in every place i go to might be the aftermath of female infanticide. There were a good number of workshops for improving the students approach towards work and corporate life, but hardly any sport or events where the students could have fun.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

No hostel facilties provided by the college almost all of the students were from mumbaia and used to stay with their parents.

Alumni/Alumna

There were hardly instances where the current students could get in touch with the alumni. The only time i got to meet some of my alumni was at the time of our college festival on the annual day.

Exam Structure

The exam structure was the typical structure as detailed ot governed by the mumbai university. Junior college had 2 unit test annually held sometime in august and january. And 2 semesters sometime in oct and march. The schedule was not too stressed but not too chilled as well in degree college there used to be 2 semesters annually. These exams were relative chilled out.

Faculty

4

The faculty of SIES college was very approachable and helpfull at times the faculty seemed strict and very conservative in their approach towards the student, but this was in the best interest of the students ( i have realised that now after passing out from the college).

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
