After my ISC board exams, I wanted to pursue my favorite stream which was Electronics based courses. During this crucial time of getting admission 'COLLEGEDUNIA' helped me really a lot to sort down many engineering colleges. With the help of 'COLLEGEDUNIA', I selected 2-3 colleges. I was still confused about which college to choose. My family suggested to visit all the three campuses and then take any final decision. Later, after visiting three of my preferred college I finally chose "GURU NANAK INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, Kolkata". I preferred this college over the other two mainly because not only the campus of 'GURU NANAK INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY' was big the management was also wonderful. Even it was near to my residence. I filled up the enrollment form in the month of June. Later, in the month the administration branch called me up and instructed further. During my admission process, it was smooth and I didn't face any difficulties. I got admitted to college within a week.

I love the subject 'Electronics' and wanted to further study in this aspect. I found out that the stream 'ELECTRONICS AND INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEERING' is just an exact match for my need. Even it looked much interesting, so I didn't hesitate much and chose this stream. As our department has an average of 25-30 students each year. Hence the faculty-student ratio is almost 1:10 so we can interact with the teacher very easily and our doubts get easily cleared. Our faculty are extremely talented. Even many of our faculties have Ph.D. degrees. They have an extremely exceptional strategic teaching method. The faculties teach in such a wonderful manner with practical examples. If we encounter any doubt understanding any topics we approach to them and our doubts get cleared in no time. During each semester there are two Unit Tests and one Semester exam. It is not at all difficult to pass.

Internships provided in many big tech firms like CAPEGIMINI, TCS, INFOTECH, etc. The companies conduct entrance test for internship programs.Apart from this our college has a special tie-up with "INTERNSHALA". Internshala is a platform where one gets to choose any internship of their own choice.

The students are eligible for campus interviews after 7th semester. Many companies come to our college like WIPRO, TCS, INFOSYS, ITC, TECH MAHINDRA, COCA-COLA, AMAZON, BYJUS, CAPGEMINI, etc. It depends on companies to companies the number of employees they require. The highest package offered was around INR 10 LPA with an average package of INR 3.5-4 LPA. Almost 80-85% of students gets placed during campusing. The job profile offered is web developer, software developer, analyst, sales executive, etc. Mainly it is the student's hard work which decides whether or not he/she gets a job offer during placement.

The overall cost of the stream I chose is around INR 4.07 lakhs. There are not many hikes in the fees. From time to time there are different types of scholarship organized by our college or by JIS College.

Our college conducts fests twice a year. The cultural or the annual fest is known as 'ZYZZYVA' is held in the month of February. The tech-fest is known as 'TESSERACT' is then held in the month of March. Both the fests are a two-day event. Many colleges participate in these two days event. We receive an immense response in this fest. Our college library has different types of books depending upon our needs. Even our college has an e-library where we can get access to e-books and e-journals. In the month of December we have an intra-college sports competition where every department students take part and compete with others in many events like a sprint race, 400m race, long jump, shot put, basketball, cricket, football, etc. Apart from the annual day competition after college hours, many students prefer to stay back in college and enjoy outdoor sports like football as well as indoor sports like carrom, chess, table tennis with their friends. Even our college has a well-equipped gym for students.
