Remarks

The only downside of my college is that the hostels doesn't have enough capacity so only 25% are able to get hostels, others have to live in flat/pgs or commute daily and its located in Rohini so most people have to travel a lot to come to the university. There's nothing good around the campus to go to, nearest attraction is nsp or south campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is very theoretical. It covers topics that you need to secure a job but doesn't provide the necessary practical experience so you have to do that on your own. Exam structure is pretty good combining both theory and practical and also group projects, they are quite hard so you have to study a lot to secure even average marks. Its not easy to cross 70% line. It also encourages us to take internships as there are marks and viva based on it. There are industrial trips and placement fair for both 3rd and 4th year.

Placement Experience

4.5

There's a dedicated placement cell which helps us both in internships and placements. Every course has it placement and internship coordinator who talks to the companies and informs the students about which companies will visit when, what job profile they're looking for and the process. Then we go to the placement cell to give the tests, there are 5-7 rounds from 2 technical round, group discussion, case study and 2/3 face to face interviews. Big names like Bain, Microsoft, amazon, adobe are just the few to name. Companies visit all year round. IT branch always have a 100% placement record.

College Events

4

There's a technical fest which happens in jan-feb but is not so famous. Only other engineering colleges come to compete in events like robowar, hackathon, etc. And then there's our cultural fest Engifest which is very famous in Delhi. Its a 3-4 day event and a huge crowd comes every year, there are too many events that takes place and every year a comedian comes and a famous singer comes for the star night which attracts the most crowd.

Fee Structure And Facilities

My program fee for 4 years was less rhan equal to 4 lakh rs with the option to either pay online or offline by check/dd or cash. An intial amount of 25k was paid to secure my seat in the college but that money was deducted from my first year tuition fees when I joined the college. The college provides receipt explaining the whole fees structure every year so it's very transparent.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college only provides scholarship to single girl child and to reserved categories so if you're an Sc/ST student with your family income lower than average they give you a scholarship every year of some amount ranging from 10k-25k. The qualifying criteria is that you secure 1st class rank in every semester without any backlog.

Campus Life

5

Gender ratio is still low as it's an engineering college but better than other colleges I believe. My batch has the ratio of 1:4. There are infinite societies on everything to be a part of. You can choose whatever you want to do and if not, start your own society. Workshops are conducted by societies all year round so if you want to learn you can learn any time anything for free or a minimum amount. There are people from all over the country and foreign students as well so it's very diverse. There is no ragging in the campus or discrimination based on caste, creed or color. Dtu is known for it's sports teams and for it nukad natak team and dance and robotics team. You get to travel to other universities in different states to compete and we compete on national to international level. Its very competitive in every field in the college so you always have to be the best to be an active part of anything.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are the most important people in college, they help us more than the professors and are the best way to shape our future. They give us references to the companies they go to and recommendations, which helps us to secure a good job easily, you can skip the intial rounds by recommendation and have other advantages also. Dtu being so famous have a reputation which helps us secure better pay scale than other colleges and the alumni network is so huge you'll find someone in any company on a high position which can help you out.

Admission

I got admission in dtu through the result of my JEE mains marks and qualifying marks for 12th board. You have to choose the colleges and your preferencea of stream that you want and based on ranks they provide seats to the candidates. There are 4-5 rounds and then a final round to select students but it's very competitive and only the top rank students get in.

Faculty

4

Except one or two professors most of the staff is top notch and have a lot of knowledge. There are different experts if different fields so they cover a vast area of knowledge. Most assistant professors are relatively young ranging from late 20s to early 30s and others are above 40-50. Lectures are relevant to the placement but not enough practice. You have to learn everything and apply it in real on your own.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
