Some old teacher seriously needs to reconsider their nature regarding gender orientation.
Course Curriculum Overview
To be very honest this college is a quiet place. It's far from Talcher city and you won't find much disturbance here. Though the quality of teaching has degraded over the years still it's one of the best out state can offer. The curriculum is okay but practical knowledge is great. Extra curricular activities are few and sadly this college does not promote any sports other than cricket and badminton. No ragging concerns for newcomers and placement is also okay.
Placement Experience
Personally I did my internship from Nalco, Angul. Most of the placement is done by Tcs and very scope for chemical engineering to be very honest. Vedant is our only hope. Mostly 5-6 companies visit every year. Placement percent is somewhat 50-60.
College Events
I am glad to say that almost every branch has their own tecno-cultural fest. And Horizon is celebrated as the most exciting fest as it's our annual tech fest. In past we had Gajendra Verma as our guest. In terms of funds Annual fest ranges somewhere from 10 to 15 Lacs. And individual fests are somewhat 3-4 lacs.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is very good. When I was studying around 70k is needed for a whole year for college and hostel +mess fee. Mode of payment is NEFT or online payment. And this place is not expensive at all. In chemical engineering the admission and course fee is somewhat 30 k. Hostel fee is somewhat 16 k for each semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have opted for medhabruti which is given by our state government. The average sum is10000. They take into account our past results and total income of our family.
Campus Life
Campus life is mostly good. Gender ratio is almost4:1. Teacher are of old thinking so don't expect to roam wid ur bae. Some of the old ones are very intolerant about this. Students don't have any political or religious group. Every festival is celebrated as such. As it's near a village so don't expect to weak that shorts and go in the market.
Hostel Facilities
I stayed in hostel in last 2 years of my study. Now a days hostels are clean without any WiFi though. Mostly it's 2 people sharing a room. Rooms are spacious and well ventilated. You need to pay 16 k for one semester.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni culture is growing strong now a day with social media outbreak. Still it's not very helpful for placement.
Admission
I scored 97 in jee main. Chemical engineering was my passion. Then I got into the choice section as normal but the intresting part was I only opted for this college because of its reputation of being one of the very best in our state for chemical engineering. I joined it in 2014 after a formal screening procedure.
Faculty
In Chemical Engineering we had 13 lecturer. Most of them are by reservation quota yet 5 of them are brilliant. Our Hod is a master of the craft (chemical engineering). He works with Imperial college London (and brags about it all the time). The average age is 20 and senior junior relationship is good.
