Remarks

Techno India university was the first autonomous private university in West Bengal. Our University provides a lot of courses to select from, starting with 4 years long B.tech course to MBA. When we think of college we firstly look at 3 areas, Placements, faculties, and campus. So our college provides decent placement opportunities. Many companies including Byjus, Tcs, CTS recruits many students every year. But don't expect tech giants like GOOGLE/AMAZON. (Though Microsoft recruits 2-3 top students every year in their service-oriented jobs). Secondly, when it comes to faculties like every college here too you can find some good faculties and few not so good faculties. The computer science engineering stream has some really good faculties. Finally, when it comes to the campus areas you might get disappointed. But still, it has a larger campus area than other private engineering colleges in Kolkata. You can get admission here through JEE/WBJEE and TIUJEE and even they even have management quota.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Coding has become the ABCD of today's world and everyone should learn it. Computer and computer engineers will rule the world in the very near future. I love being with a computer from my childhood and hence I chose it. In our class, especially in the computer science engineering stream as there are lots of students so the faculty: student ratio is very poor. Each CSE section consists of 80-85 students. But most of the CSE faculties are very good with good qualifications and can be approached easily. We have two semesters each year one in the month of June another in the month of December/January. Exams are of moderate level and can be easily passed with good grades of you have decent knowledge about the subject.

Placement Experience

3.5

From 3rd year you will become eligible for sitting in the campus placement. Many companies like TCS, CTS, BYJUS, WIPRO come for recruitment and takes many of us. Microsoft too comes but takes only 2-3 top students. The highest placement of last year was 12-13 lakh annually(approx) whereas the average salary lies between 4-5 lakh annually. More than 60% of students who seats for placement get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of the engineering program at our university is a little bit high. Each semester they will charge you Rs 79000 which is really high for a middle-class family. Other than that they take Rs-2000/sem as exam fees separately. I don't have any idea about any scholarships but you can easily avail of education loans.

Campus Life

4.5

Techno India university host 3 big fest every year. Namely VIVARTA- the technical fest, Sahotsava- Cultural fest, and Rudra - the sports fest. Vivarta is the fastest growing technical fest in Kolkata with new advancements every year. Sahotsava will occupy a special place in your heart with dance, songs, celebrity guests, and many more. Being in Rudra is the dream of every sports lover in Techno. Hope this helps you in getting the intensity of these 3 fests. Other than these there are few other functions too(like freshes, farewell). Other than that there are many clubs like the Developer students club from Google and many more.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
