Brief description about KGEC

The facilities are good & the fees structure is also very low compared to other engineering colleges. The campus and the surroundings are really nice and enjoyable. Admission processes were based on the rank we got in the wbjee. I preferred this college as this is one of the top-ranked colleges in west Bengal and the daily journey to college is also quite comfortable. The fee structure is also very low.

Afterall I liked electrical engineering and I was also influenced by my father. Faculty students ratio is approx 1:9 Almost all the facilities are a doctorate in their own field. The process they used to teach us was good. Some of them also made use of a projector to learn us various things. There were obviously semester systems and two-unit tests each semester and the questions set by them belonged to a very good level. The answer papers were also checked by them very carefully and a little bit hard. The score sent by them to the University was very proper.

The companies come to them after the sixth sem is over. The number of Companies for recruiting core stream students is not satisfactory. Mainly the students of Kgec, those who belong to the core stream, after completion of b.tech go for higher studies. And the few students who get placed, get the packages nearly about 5lpa.

The fee was 3000 rupees per semester. There were also exam fees rupees 1200 per sem. Then the gross amount is about 4200 rupees per sem and is very low compare to another college. There was also an arrangement of free ship. The students may get a half a free ship or full free ship according to their application after verifying. As this is a government college the swami Vivekananda scholarship was also available for the students who obtained good marks in sem and also is financially weak. Electrical engineering belongs to the core stream. The number of companies that came to the college for recruiting freshers was very low for the core stream but there is the opportunity of getting a job in the IT sector.

The name of the annual fest is Espectro. The tech fest is also held at the same time. These fests are organized by the students in the month of March. The fests organized by students are really very good and enjoyable. There are many and various kinds of books in the library. Almost all the books were available there. Various kinds of sports tournaments like football cricket volleyball etc are arranged every year between the departments. Sometimes teachers and students play together. The sports environment is really pleasant in this college. Besides sports, there are various kinds of social activities like painting, photography, music, etc. There are different clubs for conducting all these activities.
