Course Curriculum Overview
The Course Curriculum for MBBS is divided into two phase I MBBS and phase II MBBS. The Syllabus is subject orientated and updated. The teaching and learning is excellent as they conduct theory lessons, practicals, small group teaching, self directed learning and also clinical exposure. Talking about exams, CMC conducts monthly internal assessments and practical exams and a final exam in a year.
Placement Experience
As it is a medical college, there is no such particular sort of placements. But students will become successful doctors and have their own clinic one day if they work hard and sincerely. Management's assistance and adequate support from faculty is there.There are also various options available after doing MBBS. However, there is one year of compulsory rotating residential internship for everyone to attend. 20k is given as a stipend throughout the 1 year Internship.
College Events
The conducts organises for a number of events throughout the academic calendar. Health days are celebrated like world haemophilia day, antibiotic awareness week and also various awareness rally are conducted like road safety, eye donation awareness etc etc. There is also intra sport meet and tamil mandram and convocations held in the college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
CMC is a Government affiliated college. So one can think of a comparatively lower and affordable fee. The tuition was somewhere around 15k per year, the total fees being 73k. There are separate costs for hostelites and books purchased are to be paid separately.
Fees and Financial Aid
For MBBS Students, there are various scholarships available.there is minority scholarship, prime minister scholarship, Kerala State minority scholarship, minority scholarship and many more which can be applied under various terms and conditions.
Campus Life
The college boosts for a constant support in sports activities. There is a huge play ground used for field events which is also available for playing cricket, football. There is a basketball and separate volleyball courts. There is also a throwball court for the girls.
Hostel Facilities
The availability of seats generally depends on the basis of application. Both multi seaters and two seaters are there. Hostel rooms are decent but food quality is average. Facilities like wifi , medical , security are there. One has to return by 6pm to hostel. It is super fun to roam and chat around with the seniors and juniors. There is a hostel president and secretary among the students.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are fun loving and supportive. There is a friendly environment. They provides us clear insights and better teaching than the faculties. It was fun to play , study , gossip around with the seniors.
Admission
There are two procedures for selection. The first eligibility criteria for admission in CMC is to pass 10+2 with 50% marks and then appear for the NEET exam. The other one is to apply through State Quota. Maximum seats are alloted for the state students hence the students under all India quota should have a good rank in NEET in order to book a seat. Usually the admission procedure is done between June to September. I was a MBBS Student of batch 2019. Total seats for MBBS Student was 150.
Faculty
The faculty is well qualified and sincere to their teaching. They are easily approachable and available to help the students. They conduct several seminars and workshops for better learning experience. One can learn a lot from this great experienced teachers.
