I'm always grateful and proud of being a student of Coimbatore Medical College. The Institution offers best medical education for the students. Teachers and the management tries hard to maje capable, intelligent students out of the Campus.

The curriculum in Coimbatire Medical College is pretty good with the overall satisfactory atmosphere and teaching expertise. We've University exams once in an year and is properly done without any delay. Other than that, we've internals, online tasks, lab assignments and practicals. Though it's a hectic schedule during the exam, CMC provides best clinical experience and the management is very particular about the curriculum.

CMC offers placement assistance and internship to the students. With regular posting and internships, clear clinical knowledge is attained by the students. After 5 years of MBBS, students are given C.R.R.I (Compulsory Residential Rotatory Internship) or House Surgency. They provide a good amount (around 20000 or above) as stipend for the whole internship period of one year. Along with that, inoder to shape and develop the personality of students, proper career guidance services and trainings too are provided by the institute. Some prefers to proceed with their studies while others sought for government jobs or working in private hospitals.

The Institution organises various events and celebrations on days like Hospital Day, International Yoga Day etc. Academic and extra curricular activities for the students including NSS, Sports meet, Cultural meet and variois Inter-College Quiz Programmes too are organised.

Fees in CMC is average and feasible. Other than College fees, there are examination fees, hostel and mess fees. Since it is a Government Institution, fees for 5 years of MBBS do not exceed 1 lakh. I've 14,663 as fee for an year.

The Library, Laboratory, Canteen, Community lab, Extra curricular activities, and Clinical facilities work progressively in the Institution. The Campus has large surface area with an area of 25,000 sqmts, comprising of a 400m running track, central cricket pitch, football ground, and facilities for field events. The playground also has a basketball court, volleyball court, an indoor stadium and a Gymnasium with modern equipments for fitness. In order to maintain Gender equality, a Committee for Anti-Sexual Harassment too runs there.

We've separate hostel facilities for both girls and boys. There are proper accommodation facilities, that too at affordable prices. Hostel is nearby the college playground. Students run their own mess. There is an Association for the hostel mates and various celebrations are organised every year. Rooms are clean and we're provided with proper food, water and other basic needs with good quality.

It was in the year 1988 that an Old Students association was formed for our college. Its first meet was conducted in the same year at the Coimbatore Medical College Premises. The association involves various social, cultural activities and is very useful. A constant touch with the Alumni provides us an aid in every respect. There's a common WhatsApp group with the Alumni and it helps us to share informations and updates of the medical field. Our seniors are so cool and friendly that we're free to ask any queries with them.

Education is life itself. Conscious of the role you've in restoring the health or healing someone is perhaps the strongest reason why majority choose to study and work in the field of medicine. So, I thought of a long term commitment and landed up pursuing MBBS. Suffice it to say, the whole admission procedure is very thorough in Coimbatore Medical College. Anyone with (10+2) or High School Senior Secondary exam by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any equivalent exam conducted by any State Board or Equivalent along with the NEET UG Medical scorecard could apply for MBBS seats and I was granted admission for the same since my NEET scores were pretty good. Also I had to sit for an online counselling session after the publication of the results.

We're lucky to have learned Doctors having good practice and teaching skills. Their life experience and friendly approach guide us in every respect. They're an epitome of knowledge and conveys everything clearly. We're free to ask anything related to our studies, anytime, without any hesitation. They're acquainted with our ups and downs and are always with us in our life journey. Their sincerity and dedication has always inspired us.
