Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum includes training and examinations. Each semester consisted of 120 days of classes. The examinations are divided into theory and practical. 20 marks of each subject is taken by Internal Assessment. There are four phases in the curriculum, with diverse areas of study such as Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Ophthalmology, Medicine, Surgery and others.
Placement Experience
The students get a hands on experience at the hospital of the Katihar Medical College. The practical training happens there, for every student. After the completion of the degree, one can either join as a doctor at the hospital or opt for other hospitals.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The tuition fee of every student is Rs. 7,38,000/- each year. Also, a development fee is charged every year which amounts to Rs. 1,00,000/-. The Student Amenities fee is Rs.50,000.00 per year. The one time security deposit is Rs.1,00,000.00, which is refundable.
Campus Life
The extracurricular activities include outdoor sports activities. The college provides several amenities for the sports related activities such as a football-cum-cricket field, badminton courts, basketball courts, gymnasium and others.
Admission
A student has to fulfill basic eligibility criteria like 10+2 boards with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English, as compulsory subjects. Then, you need to secure 50% or above in the NEET exam. With the above-mentioned documents, I applied online in the State Government website, bceceboard.bihar.gov.in. After application, I was called for a counselling session.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is excellent and has huge experience in their respective fields. The Head of Department, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sinha, has a working experience of more than 17 years. All the assistant and associate professors are extremely qualified and guides you through all the course work.
