Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is well polished and updated. It covers all the major areas in medical science. The university exams are held once each year and along with that we need to give various other exams almost every month, including practical. The students need to have read all the chapters well otherwise it is quite difficult to get through the university exams.
Placement Experience
The doctors graduating from this college doesn't sit idle. We start earning while studying in the college. The college allows you to do internship while studying in the college. The internship also offers the students a handsome amount of stipend.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Since it is a government college, the fees that we pay/paid is much lesser than what other medical colleges in the country demand. The tuition fee is somewhere around Rs. 14k per year, and along with the other charges it would reach up to Rs. 30-35k per year. And if you stay in hostel, the annual fee would go up to Rs. 1 lac. Campus Life
Like any other college, our college also organize various cultural and sports events, workshops, and lots more. One of the main events in our college is the ANASTAMOSIS that is held every year where more than 20 medical colleges come and participate in various events ranging from sports, cultural, literature, etc.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility of this college is quite good, if not the best. The corridors, toilets, and buildings are well maintained. Both the boys and the girls hostels are near to our college buildings, playgrounds, etc.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network of CMC is quite big. For the past 50 years it has been producing fine doctors and other medical workers. Every year our college organizes a meet where all the alumni of our college gather together and share their thoughts and journey.
Admission
To get into the Coimbatore Medical College you need to clear the class 12th board exams with a desirable percentage of marks and also get the minimum All India Rank (AIR) in NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). The minimum rank or the cut-off marks n NEET keep changing every year, so stay updated. Since, it is a state-run medical college, it also has a state quota which holds 85% of the total seats, and the rest 15% through All India quota.
Faculty
The faculties in this college are quite friendly and willingly to teach you until all your doubts are cleared. They are highly qualified and are eligible to make you understand complex thing in a simpler manner.
