Remarks
This is the perfect college for students who have a work life or some home commitments and can not attend the regular college. The education and faculty provided was perfect to crave out a qualified student. I would always be obligated by the college for letting me work and also qualifying me as a teacher today.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course consisted of 2years with 4 semester division. The subjects in total one year were 4-5 including the communication course. The classes were taken online and lectures were delivered. It was a relaxing curriculum for people who were already working. I was able to take classes according to my time. The end of each year was taken to be the exam time when we had externals. The externals were taken in the university. There were no performing practicals for this course but we were asked to take various internship for teaching
Placement Experience
After completion of B.ed there were no placements from the college because it is a distance learning institute. It just helps those people who are unable to enroll in regular college due to personal reasons or working conditions. The degree is anyway of high scope for the teacher aspirants. We can apply for jobs in schools and institutes. It is a professional course so the scope is good for the future.
College Events
Our college was only for the purpose of gaining educational degree and was not a regular college. No such events were celebrated but ceremonies like farewell and honor were hosted by the college. After graduation we were honored properly with the degree in a confined ceremony. No events like sports day, annual day were celebrated.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The college was very affordable at minimal fees. The fees was to be submitted yearly through Demand Draft or online portal. It was approximately INR 1,500 for a year. This institute only focused on giving the educational degree so the fees were feasible and the course had high scope.
Campus Life
The college was for distance education so there were no as such extracurricular activities. We had one play ground where we could play casually, to release stress, the libraries were equipped with all the essential books for the course, the labs had little equipments for the students. The canteen used to run for restricted hours but with healthy and proper food.
Hostel Facilities
There was no hostel accommodation by college. The students who came from outside where requested to find their own place. The campus had no hostel life but nearby there were many PGs available which were cheap enough to be afforded. All the nearby area was safe and secure. The PGs' range started from INR500 per month to INR 2,000.
Alumni/Alumna
There was no alumni network maintained by the university. This was for distance education so students after pursuing the degree used to continue their worklife and after. But whenever an ex senior came to the university in exam days they were always humble and friendly with us. The only guide to us were our teachers.
Admission
I applied in the Bed course through online mode and filled up the application form from the website. After taking the printed form out i filled up the details and was asked to attach the required documents and verify them. The filled in form and documents were to be sent through speed post/registered post or in person to the address The Director, Directorate of Distance Education, S.V University, Tirupati ?517 502. After the selection i was enrolled in the course.
Faculty
The online faculty was very humble and polite. They used to be clear about what they taught. The communication was at ease due to good english speaking skills. We could connect with them online for any doubts and they used to clear them. All the members were very helpful and gave extra tips on the subject. The notes were provided properly with proper tests. They used to forward important questions which could be asked in the exam.
