Entrance Preview

I had to give an entrance examination which is part multiple choice questions and part is in written form. After that I had to face an interview panel. I don't remember now how much i scored but I guess I scored enough to be a part of the institution.

Internships Opportunities

Well, since its a new university, placement cell is yet to be put in place. But there are plenty of opportunities in the government sector for students. Many of my classmates went to intern in HRC, MHA, FM etc where they were paid handsomely and they also got to learn important trades.

Placement Experience

2

Like I said, placement cell was yet to be put in pace but I heard though some juniors that the placement cell has stared its operations. Some of the juniors get placed in good company like Smart cube etc where they were paid in the range of 40-50 k per month.

College Events

4

College celebrates an annual cultural festival Audacity every year. Apart from that, There are departmental fests of various clubs and departments. There is also an annual sports day celebrated where students get to compete in various outdoor and indoor sports competitions. Apart from that, there are always workshops, presentations and other eminent scholars visiting and giving guest lectures which anyone can attend.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For masters of economics, the fee was about 18k per semester. However, for people who cant afford the fee, the university provides fee waivers too. Moreover, the university also provides money for your commute from & to university to.

Fees and Financial Aid

University provides fee waivers for the underprivileged. It also provides money for commutation to & from university for students who cannot afford to commute daily. Moreover, for performing well in each semester, university provides scholarships to top 5 students every semester.

Campus Life

5

It is a really good university for those who want to further pursue higher studies. The ambiance is pretty amazing. People are friendly and accomodating to your views. they discuss philosophy, ideas, scholars, music, feminism, anything and everything. Gender ratio is really good (1:2 nearly for M:F). The university boasts of diversity. People have come from all over the world (both faculty and students). College conducts workshops nearly every week on nearly all the important topics which plague the world such as labour exploitation, gender bias etc.

Alumni/Alumna

Since the college is relatively new, the alumni network is yet to be put in place. However, I have interacted with many seniors and super- seniors in the college. Most of them have went on to do doctoral work and many of them are busy doing research work.

Faculty

5

Faculty is really amazing and really educated. University has chosen from the best of the teachers available throughout the country. However, the faculty has a little bit of left leaning ideology which is understandable as many of the teachers are from JNU. However, teachers have an open mind about everything and are always ready for constructive debates if you ever want to talk to them. University has really high standards which it expects to imbibe in the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always held that the training I recieved during my masters programme prepared the grounds for my future development. The teaching pedagogy was centres around participation and a two way dialogue. I am not in the capacity to be suggesting improvements in curriculum as my stint in the university was almost perfect- more than I could have ever asked for.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well designed by the renowned professors and faculty members from different universities in India and from abroad as well. The content was choosen keeping in mind to cover all the aspects of the specific subject for a pg student. As I mentioned before, the quality of study material was very good and helpful and very enough. But the pg thesis is missing from our course, due to which we were not able to do a research project. It appears to me after the completion of my first year that we can do our research under our given faculty but it wasn't mentioned in the course structure as it is mainly upto our faculties.

In IGNOU, you can study from anywhere because the courses are offered in distance and online mode. You don’t have to attend regular college; you can study at home using the books, PDFs, and online lectures. IGNOU also provides online teachers through live classes, recorded videos, and doubt-clearing sessions on their online platforms. This makes it easy for students to learn even if they are working or living in another city.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For the course i must say that this is something everyone needs to study about even if it's for just a part. We have ethics, moral, cultural relativism and etc. In our syllabus and it all really help to make our thinking rational, to see World from that point of view from where one can see the clarity. It's really necessary for improvement in personality and making good decision. I think there's need for making this course more practical like teaching, we can teach students about essentials of philosophy for there betterment of decision making from an early age.
